1.
but you know how it is when GAS hits, and i'm not selling my ibby or taitycaster.
Oh i do indeed, i think your dad does too
2. very nice bass this, sterling ball said himself that the last batch of OLPs were very very good, but too little too late and all that! Good luck selling, luke I can't enlarge the last two pics either, try hosting on photobucket or something?
3. The fact that they are both apparently bass #3 yet the signatures are clearly different worries me more
4. lovely grain in the wenge
5. That duck dunn looks really nice, not usually a fan of p/j copies but that's very pretty! Not a fan of lakland bridges though.
6.
pink Ray looks much nicer than i thought it would... And can never go wrong with bongos! Well done
lavender mist
7. £130? bargain for anyone who wants a good fretless bass!
8.
I didn't like the looks of the Bongo's at first but when I heard them I changed my mind. I was able to buy a red HH Bongo 4 for 1000 euros on Ebay and I just got it today. I haven't been able to check it out yet but it looks great. There's a character in it which is just a little bit different from other MusicMans and I love that sound.
Aye lots of people don't like the looks, but once you play one, you tend to get over it! huge sound and the necks feel gorgeous i think get some pics up!
9. nice one, black on sunburst will always look better than tort, and that's a fact love the burst on the middle one
10. Yeah you should give it a bash, the neck is a bit daunting to get over at first (really nice jazz width but fat profile, i find it quite comfy), it is pretty versatile, and huge sounding! I do like the black, wouldn't mind one in blue either.... hmmmm But yeah give one a bash, i reckon you'd like it It is a very different beast to anything EBMM, but you can hear the similarities
11. nice one, bongos are lovely basses have you ever tried a warwick corvette $$? if you're into that growly musicman pickup sound then you should give one a go if you haven't already, i love mine!
12.
I've thought about the neck; not down to raw wood as it gets grubby and moist but I may well refinish to natural so it matches better. With my first Double, it had sticky gloss on the neck, so I French Polished it - worked a treat!
Well, i meant take it down to bare wood and then tung/gunstock oil it. I don't like sticky gloss
13. So we recorded vocals today and i've been working into the night getting it mixed. Let me know what you think! Link here
14. doesn't help that GAK want almost £1k for that particular model brand new. You seem to have missed the boat on the cheap warwicks, i couldn't be happer with my 'cheap' warwick though!
15. doesn't even look old to me....
16. nice!! sweet top on that If it was me, i'd probably take that neck down to raw wood too, i like how it feels, not a fan of gloss
17.
I sold my Corvette $$ for £450 - and wish i still had it! They're very, very versatile basses. To me the "stock" sound is like a Jazz on steroids, but with more growl. But you can also get some good traditional Precision tones. The only issue if you're used to a Jazz might be the neck profile. Personally, I love Warwick necks, but lots don't. They are heavier than you would expect for a small body - but mine was lighter than my old US Jazz.
I have his old corvette and it's lovely! (sorry, it's not going anywhere!) The neck is gorgeous, jazz profile but fairly chunky, i find it quite comfortable. As for sound, very aggressive, more low end than a musicman and more versatile. More growl than a jazz, but you can put it in single coil mode etc. Very nice bass, i'd highly reccommend one, but i'd also reccommend you try it first. The neck is very much a marmite sort of thing and the body is pretty small, which some people may not like, but i do.
18. Two words. Dave Ellefson.
19. Very nice! Get some black knobs for that sucker!
Excellent. Looks just like a Cutlass. A sort of Statlass.
Didn't the cutlass' have status necks anyway?
20.
Maybe they have a Fender J bass in stock with a Tele style neck?
Aside from the headstock saying precision lol
21. That's gorgeous!!! Good luck with the sale matey, only wish i could afford it!
22.
My latest one: Trans teal formerly with black scratchplate, changed to white by me. My first one: Both of them are '96 ones but the trans teal has a plastic battery compartment compared to the metal screwed in cover that the black one has. The trans teal is massively lighter too.
Nice! Also my guess to the weight difference is that the teal one will be ash bodied and the black one something else, probably alder. They used to use prettier grained woods on the trans finish rays. Not sure if they still do or not.
23. nice one, one of my favourite colours
24. gorgeous colour!
25. I'd sell my soul for that thing!
