1. ahhh right, i don't have all this fancy gear you see, just a point and shoot camera or my phone
2. ok, i might get back to you about the head or cab at some point then
3. Ashdwon? sounds like a cheap chinese knockoff! Seriously though, i may be interested in both of these, would you be interested in a trade at all?
4. hah yeah i like your honesty mate!
5. very nice! hopefully it will be as nice as your other W&T, probably the best playing bass i've ever touched! I didn't know it was a short scale, probably has something to do with that.
6.
I assume it's out of warranty ?
WELL out of warranty, i didn't buy it new anyway.
7.
do you still get any bass sound out of it as well as the buzzing noise? If you do then its almost certainly a power supply capacitor thats failed or come detached from the pcb. £80 is taking the p*ss to fix that.
Nope, no bass sound at all. ashdown reckoned it was a capacitor too, and that music shop have just charged a friend exactly the same price for exactly the same job on a different amp... i reckon they're pulling my leg. Bit coincidental.
8. sorry! might get back to you if i sell my bass, i missed the boat on the last one of these
9. basically i took this head into the shop to get it fixed as it was making a LOUD buzzing noise even with gain and output down, and it turns out the power supply has had it and they want £80 to fix it. Obviously it's not really worth it, so i'll sell it spares or repair if you need some parts or if you know someone that's handy with electronics. Just shoot me some offers, i'm not looking for much. EDIT: i think my dad is going to try and fix it, if not it's going back up for sale
10. The verdict on my amp has just come in, not good. £80 to fix an amp that's only worth about that anyway... i may well have to sell this just to fund a new one
11. i'm still not totally sure... i might just wait and save some cash up... It's a shame it's not getting used though.
12. Yeah, i'm still not sure, it's a lovely bass but it just doesn't get played and i could do with a new amp. And cheers for the offer, but i'm looking for a stack ideally so i can keep one cab at home and one at our practice rooms and transport the head between, though that is quite a steal!
13. I'm thinking of selling my musicman SUB bass in red, sounds almost identical to a stingray with the same pickup and electronics and plays really nicely, if you want a stingray on a budget, this is really the bass for you. There are some dings on the headstock, one small scrape on the back of the neck and a small ding on the front of the bass and a couple of small scratches on the bottom of the bass near the strap button, (sounds a lot but more than a foot away you can't even see them really) other than that it's in great condition. I also swapped the tasteless metal pickguard for a black one, but i'll include both and a padded tribal planet gig bag. I don't play this bass at all anymore, it's all about my warwick, so i'm thinking of getting rid of this to fund a new amp, something along the lines of a cheaper ampeg head or an ashdown ABM, so feel free to offer me your trades. Although this is only a feeler as i still like the bass and it has some sentimental value, i'm pretty firm on the price of £360 + postage, so please, no low-balling. There are some pics in this photobucket album, the darkish ones are from the other day, trying to show off the small flaws i mentioned. Here's a photo to get you going
14. I'll give you a shout if i get my bass shifted mate
15. i think you'll probably find more people who want one or the other rather than both.... i would fall in that first category
16.
and the price range, if i may be so bold?
ditto any trades?
17.
Cheers Sam! The photos were taken with a Canon Digital camera but using a decent bounce flash rather than direct flash. Not quite in Lysdexia's league I'm afraid!
ah ok, what's this flash bounce you speak of? and i don't know what your missus might say with semi-nude ladies posing with your basses, i wouldn't imagine it would end well
18. luke was telling me you got a rick, but i didn't think it would be that nice!!!! if it was me, i'd get rid of that pickup cover and put in a black pickguardian, perfect! Has anyone ever told you you're really good at taking photos? how do you do it? i can never get enough light
19. Don't worry about it, i'm not desperate for it anyway
20.
It's not really 3600W.
it's probably 1800W RMS 3600 peak, but still, who needs that kind of power? And much less, if anyone is going to be playing large enough venues to warrant such power, they're not going to be looking to buy a behringer are they?
21. That sounds good, my dad will be picking my sister up from leeds fest at the end of august, if it's not too much trouble for him and it's still around and you want to do the trade, then i'm sure that would be ok
22. yeah it happens with a lot of amps, particularly those with valves. My ashdown takes about 30 seconds to power down when i turn it off... that's annoying too!
23. take it to a band practice and find out. Normally i'd say no, but if it's an acoustic set... maybe...
24. nice! looking very good!
