1. I think the poster above is refering to the vocal doubling the main bass line?
2. I'd love a PF500, wouldn't buy one as my only amp though, after all the stories of them failing.
3. If someone would kindly buy my Little Mark 3, i'd love this!!
4. I'd be interested to try one, I have a Chapman guitar and it's the worst guitar I've ever owned but quite a long shot.
5. I reckon it is Jamareo Artis too - the fills sound like the sort of thing he is in to when you see them live. I had assumed the vocal was just a sampled vocal doubling the bassline. Whatever it is, it sounds ace.
6.
Never had any problems with Thomann - I've had more problems with the UK based companies than I have with Thomann (which is zero). What's this about Germans and efficiency?
Same here.
7. Could have the Toilet Seat Bass for only 10k more... But, seriously, what a beautiful piece of Fender history.
8. Are you interested in trades? I've got a Markbass Little Mark 3 for sale here on BC.
9.
Markbass Little Mark 2 or 3 would do that, sound nice and warm...
Agreed. (Not that I'm selling one, or anything...)
10. Hi All, I have decided to sell my Little Mark 3. It is a 2010 model that i have owned since new. It didn't get a great deal of use originally as the only band i was in was an originals outfit and we were really only playing gigs with supplied backline! However, it has had weekly use over the last couple of years and has been faultless. It is of course made in Italy - and may be class A/B given it's age, rather than class D, but don't quote me on that! It is standard stuff really, lovely clean but warm tone that has worked well with every cab i have used it with. It is in very good condition, there are no dents or noticeable marks when the amp is sitting atop a cab; the only thing worth mentioning is that there are a couple of scratches to the paint on the bottom of the amp. This came from the shop i bought it from like it, and without the scratches the amp would be mint condition - it could easily be touched up, don't know why i've never thought to do so...! In the photos i have pictured these scratches to show it is just to the paint and there is not a single dent or gouge to the chassis. I am only looking to sell as i fancy a change, even though i know i will miss this great amp, so with that in mind i am open to trade offers for other amps. Ideally a Tone Hammer 500, as that is what the cash would go towards. I am on the Isle of Wight, so collection available from here, Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington. £350 including UK delivery. 11. It does take getting used to and lots of it is trial and error. One of the best guitarists i know holds his plectrum in such a weird unconventional manner. Try different picks too, shapes, sizes and flex. I anchor my pinky somewhere on the guitar/bass when playing the higher strings and like you, lightly palm mute when playing the lower strings - which might be worth trying if you are finding pick playing difficult standing up as it would give you a bit more stability.
12. Definitely seperately! Unless you're holding an open audition it'd just be awkward. If they are a front man/woman then they should be able to take centre stage. Especially for functions bands, they should be self aware and confident enough to adapt to the situation and act appropriately as required for the gig. Of course, ability, versatility and likeability are vital! Good luck!
13.
Just snagged a blonde piggy-back Bassman after much searching, so thought i'd get some of my stuff out for a pic, so we have 3 x bass and rigs to add to this porn thread; '52 Precision and '52 TV Bassman, '58 Precision and '59 Bassman, '61 Jazz and '63 Bassman
Sweet baby Jebus.
14.
Here's the new setup. Huge changes, eh? I'm so crazy...
Nice one. Great cabs them.
15.
Thanks for the info M@23,a slipped disc last weekend is steering me towards considering a pair of 8ohm Markbass Standard 104HR's.
They'll be great. Really nice cabs, just one is plenty capable. Two will be brilliant. Hope your back heals soon too mate. Not nice.
16.
Another vote for Olympic white and tort... Here's my Limelight :-)
Gets my vote. Carries the relic vibe really nicely.
17. Massive thanks to all Rewired Function Bands new likes. 27 left to 100! Ha. Much appreciated. Will hit the newest batch now.
18. Can you use your thumb nail at all? Which Neve pre are you using?!
19.
Guess it's all just BS! How do you like these cabs M@23? Serving you well?
BS is about right! Unfortunately I don't have my 102p anymore, but regret selling it and would really like another! If you have two you can stack them vertically too for a smaller footprint and easier-to-hear-yourself 4x10. I pushed one cab pretty hard and didn't have any issues though. They are punchy little things.
20. I've used two 102p together and a 102p with a 151p, the two 102p 2x10 paired far better. They are really great cabs. Having two would cover all eventualities. One is plenty enough for small gigs. Saying that, two 151p would make a pretty cool 2x15!! Definitely find the cab you like and buy a second for maximum versatility, if you want a small light modular rig that can be used for bigger gigs too.
21.
That was a tribute to Bobby Robson - great fun. Full story here.
Wow. Dream come true sort of stuff there.
22. Enjoyed that. Looks like you've had some great gigs. What was the one with the orchestra and X Factor fella, amongst others?
