Lovely looking jazz bass, all but the scribble on the headstock. At least put it on the back of the flippin' headstock.

I'm surprised the track isn't faded out before the solo bit - most radio stations seem to cut off the outro these days, sometimes even the whole last chorus.

Why don't you have a guitarist or male BVs? From watching your video I'd say both are needed. Great playing though. Good luck with it all.

I had a Babicz on a VM Jazz once, whilst also owning a standard one, sonically I don't think it made a bit of difference but it was a nice bridge.

Try and play one. You'll know if they are for you or not quite quickly. I avoided them as I didn't want to join the masses, but was asked to use one for a recording session - I've not looked back since.

I use the 50-100s on two P basses. Very nice and even sound, the tension is similar to the standard 45-105 rounds that come on Fender basses.

[/quote] That's kind of one of the points I was trying to get across above. I could hear myself far better than I have at this venue previously, even when using bigger rigs. Focused and articulate. Edit, just seen your reply! It is a wonderful thing to hear and I've tried many cabs, EQ pedals and basses to get to this point! But am really happy and dying to try other amps through them.

Thanks Barrie, that's really interesting to hear your initial findings. I just did a small gig with one s112. They have only had maybe an hours use before the gig, but truth told, the gig wasn't loud. Here are a few rambled conclusions; The one cab handled it no sweat. The cab looked great and standing horizontally it has a really little footprint. The sound is really pleasing. The Little Mark amp seemed to work very well with it, I played around with EQ more than I would, just to experiment, but it responded really well. I could hear myself better than with previous cabs at this venue. The mids are so articulate and clear. We did a set of soul/motown covers this evening, and it sounded right at home. I don't know what it was, but the tone control on my Precision was a more usable tool. With my previous cabs I hardly ever had it full on as the sound was too harsh for me. But tonight, every tone I was getting was usable and musical. Whether that's down to the lack of tweeter or neo drivers, I don't know. There was still plenty of clean highs, just no shrillness or ice pick stuff. Put simply, I'm flippin' loving the TKS cabs and am looking forward to using them both tomorrow night!!

I've had the same experience. Venues have their regulars and that's that. Luckily, I have friends in established functions bands so could pick up some of their cancellations. Also, try get some videos uploaded and take high exposure gigs. Some people don't like charity gigs, but we got half a dozen private functions off the back of one recently. We also had a good few offers from landlords and managers after uploading a video to FB. Some were from venues that we had previously cold called and been given the same poor excuses you mention above. They don't tend to book you because you asked nicely, most want assurances that you'll do a good job.

[/quote] I think what is being said (by those with far more knowledge on the subject than myself!) Is that the difference in running your amp at its minimum load, I.e 4 ohm instead of 8, will only give you a 3 dB increase, which is minimal and that you can only get a certain amount out of two ten inch drivers. If two tens won't cut it at 8 ohms, it's more than likely they won't at 4 ohms either.

These are the first cabs I've had without tweeters for a while, but I'd gradually been turning them down and then off. My initial reaction is, I'm not going to miss them. The mids and highs are so nice and musical, I think the cabs are going to work wonderfully in a band. The higher notes already really sing without the tweeter.

My photos don't do it justice. It is quite overcast today, but I'll get a better snap tomorrow if it's sunnier. The cloth is actually a warmer yellower colour. It's the beige/brown on the TKS site, in case anyone else was wondering!

After hours of browsing the net for info and many emails back and forth - i decided to give these a try. As UPS only dropped them off this morning, i've not given them a thorough test. But will just say my initial impressions are that the build quality is as good as i have seen from ANY guitar/bass cab. The fit and finish are perfect. The attention to detail is remarkable. They just sound like proper, decent bass cabs should, IMO. The bottom end is focused and round and the mids and highs are lovely and clear - without a tweeter. Just noodling on my Precision with flats you can hear that it will be a match made in heaven. I've not spent long playing them, but straight away they just had [i]that[/i] sound. The process of buying them was far easier than i had anticipated too. Tommy, the owner, answered all my emails very promptly and in perfect English. He was a real gent and talked me through whole process with patience. The whole process took two and a half weeks or so. The were shipped on the 18th, saw a bit of Denmark and Germany and arrived today, really well packaged, via UPS. Put it this way, i have had more difficult, drawn out processes ordering from the UK. I'll report back once i have rehearsed and gigged them.
