1.
Lower your action .....
Yeah, less groupies should help! I have an ache in my fretting little finger that has been around for months - worrying. I think it's the start of bad things.
2. I've always thought that high up basses look ultra nerdy and uncool, and over accentuate the 'limp wristed' plucking hand look - which I also hate! so I like it pretty lowish, but just high enough to do slapping still. Haven't looked in a mirror to see how low/high it looks though. Pretty much always kept the same height though.
3.
.... 'Advanced Sap Bass'.
Yup, that sounds like me! I'm at work right now but I'll be checking these out later, thanks.
4. Not keen on yearly sub, doesn't seem all that 'fair' as some will shift shedloads of stuff and others like me might buy/sell one thing in a year.
5. Dat's annoying. the pix ain't working for me
6. My fave Sanborn record is 'as we speak'. Once again, great playing from Miller throughout.
7. No way is it decided before. You could never get away with that when the public are paying to vote. The S*** really hit the fan a few years ago when they figured that 'some' people voted and they weren't counted on some shows. I don't watch the show, but I have seen Jahmene's first audition and I have to say that I loved it. Not sure what else he's done though.
8. Hmmmmn .... strange idea, let's throw in other guitarists that we like???? Keneally and Petrucci - both amazing players (seen them both live and own CDs as well), but they just don't have the soul of Page and Beck. Horses for courses though really isn't it. I'm going for ........... Page. Ultimately I would rather spend time on a desert island with his discography than Jeffs.
9. I'm desperate for one of these having tried one, but I have no dosh right now. I'm trying to decide whether or not to let my jazz 5 string go having gone back to 4's now, but it's a tough decision ....
10.
Depends on how you look at it - Beck purely as a guitar player but Page for producing the best music!
Good answer - I like that!
11. That looks lovely!
12. I like to widdle up there. Might as well use everything available!
13. I don't know that much about different basses, but I had the pleasure of a brief noodle on a Roadworn jazz bass recently and it was an absolute peach to play. Can a MIM jazz be set up/altered to play as well with a bit of sorting, maybe smoothing the finish off the back of the neck, rolling the fretboard edges a bit etc? I've never tried a MIM so I don't actually know what they feel like!

Relic J5

Sounds great. Needs to be relic'd!!
15. Are you guys joking??? that bass is awesome!!!! I cried just admiring its beauty. Nah, it's a wind up - it's horrible. Having said that. I'd gladly have it cheap and remove that finish if I still played 5 strings.
16. My mate at work just bought exactly one of these (I can't tell you how much for!) and it is a sweet player indeed.
17. Awesome band! If only they'd do a tour.
18. A thing of beauty. I love it! If I win the lottery I'm ordering one! To make it more realistic, it should only work if you keep topping it up with alcohol.
19. I read the title and thought you were modding your bass with one of those 80's whammy bars!
20. [sub]I'm a cheapskate, I do it all the time.[/sub]
21.
I am LOVING that black 70's reissue pic above!!!! Want.
Doh, got all excitable about that bass but it's 3000 euros!
22. I am LOVING that black 70's reissue pic above!!!! Want.

Spectors?!

@johnfitzgerald: Awesome bass - I love bodies in that sort of colour. I tried a Euro 5 a lot of times and really liked it. Tried an NS5 and it was my favourite bass ever - couldn't afford it though
24. I use them ones there [points to bass]. They came with it. I'm not one for swapping strings much. I don't play bass anywhere other than at home. My hohner Jack V is wearing the strings that came with it when I bought it 16 years ago!
25. Only had time to dip into the tracks a bit (at work and the girls are out of the office) - I really like them! Cool sounding band.
