2. MTD Grendel 5 is my main bass now neck is fantastic comfortable and quick.
3. My E + 5 digits is an export model. It's a boner from 1989 so maybe that numbering system went for quite some time.

5. think Soul Man transcribed it for Bassist UK back in the day
6. Kings of the Rodeo is one of the best American rock songs in years. The Bass Player in the band has got better and better, clearly listens to Kim Deal, sounds like genuine rock.
7. My Boner is very heavy but my Growler is very light
8. way better than good best V I've ever played I have the 35" J Pick up Czech made version strung with flats it's my #1 gigging and go to Bass
9. good record. probably prefer Horn's work on Grace Jones "Slave to the Rhythm" but the 2 records compliment each other
10.
+1 to that. Some of the Smiths bass lines are great examples of melodic playing, but the overall feel is what really stands out. We play What Difference Does it Make in my covers band. It's a dead simple bass line, but the feel, and how it just works for the song, is a fantastic example of a tasteful bassline really defining the song. Pulling that off live is actually harder than I expected it to be!
I think WDDIM is his best bassline The Smiths are truly one of the great UK rock bands. Still surprised some people "don't get them". I'd argue Marr/Morrissey have one of the strongest songbooks in music.
11. don't eat the yellow coloured snow is amongst the best advice I have ever received.
12. he used to write a column for bass player called undervalued bass player (and their recordings) one edition was on a player he obviously really rated sadly that bass player did not play on that particular recording this always struck me as hilarious despite being potentially meanspirited on my behalf.
13. yes good one Matt I understand you probably wanted to fit it on one page but pedant from Aotearoa writes I like blues as 4 bars per line not 6 bars. and bilbo's book is on NZ's version of ebay http://www.trademe.co.nz/books/nonfiction/music/other/auction-597624940.htm
14. bought the remastered / reworked Red Shoes / Sensual World this week she really is tops. Truly one of the premier English songwriters.
15. I like the LMB-3 good with fretless.
16. interesting that playing and transcribing levels are different. I guess it can show how people may prioritize their practice time.
