Hello all. I'm offering up my DoD 440 clone envelope filter. It's had an input cap mod, so its really properly full frequency and works fantastically with bass. It's on eBay right now, but I will happily pull the listing for a basschatter. This particular pedal is built from a byoc kit, although the original brick of an enclosure has been binned in favour of a more petite and svelte offering from pedal parts plus. It does have a blemish on the paint just below the footswitch, but aside from that, minty fresh. It's not your typical DOD pedal, the byoc kit runs to nearly 60 quid and the enclosure set me back some cash too (which makes it all the more galling that I managed to smudge the paint when I was wiping off the excess ink from the question mark print-what a twat!). So for those who don't know this pedal, what makes it special? Well its pretty old skool, featuring an optocoupler to control the envelope, so its amazingly touch sensitive, and because of that, if you want it to be subtle, well just play subtle.... if you fancy getting mental, dig in! It doesn't have the vicious attach of the DoD fx25 made popular by flea, and doesn't get into that odd frog croak territory without some serious finger abuse. The controls are simple: sensitivity and range, although the 2 are very interactive and you will find, if you're one of those players (posers) who switches guitars a lot, this pedal might get on your tits, as it does require different settings for different basses. It's a great piece, and even though its 'only' a clone, you don't see that many around and imho that's only because they're not a well understood pedal.... so I'm setting the price at around the £55 mark, as much below that and I'd rather keep it, even though my band keep telling me I'm not bootsie. Don't be shy. Get in touch if you're interested. Oh just one thing, to the buyer - this pedal is true bypass, there's no pop suppression on the footswitch/ led. I could have added a big resistor to smooth that out, but this baby is ALL ABOUT THA TONE! sorry about the sh*tty photo by the way

Hello Chaps, been away a little while and now back 'cos i need to move on a great little pedal. I think of it as my 'get out of jail free card', since, in the unlikely event of my amp going pete tong mid set, this bad boy will step in to get me through the PA. It also serves as a nifty little EQ and a nice boost as well. It's not seen any use for a while, so I'm looking to get shot. I think £60 via paypal is fair since they're going for £110 new. Nice but wouldn't suit what I have in mind. I will be needing 2 pickups and budget is a big factor. The appeal of p90s is that cos they're 10 a penny cuz the guitards love em, they will be easy to source cheap

With the sub it was a very physical thing and was always there. Sometimes I was sure it was fret buzz, but in a much less choked and restricted way. A fully voiced note with plenty of physical rattle in there. Beer may also have a point as the sub had a wide yet slender neck. The jazz has a narrow and slender neck. That said, I also have a 4001,which can growl, but that's got quite a stout neck. The growls different though. Less mechanical I think, but I'm straying into magic wood territory again ;-) -

I think you could be on to something. I had a musicman sub which had some pretty wide frets on it. That growled like an angry badger even acoustically. My '64 reissue (sigh, she's so lovely) also has a nice growl and whilst not enormous, the frets are definitely on the larger side of medium, whereas my westone concord which has banjo frets it seems, aside from all its other shortcomings, couldn't growl enough to scare a small chipmunk. I had always put it down to 'magic wood' combinations, but let's face it, that's just the kind of bollocks we talk when what we actually mean is 'i don't know and haven't given it much thought'! -
I'm considering a new build project since I acquired a couple of large chunks of korina a long time ago, and they deserve to be used. Anyhooo, I want this build to be a bit different so first up it will be my first fretless, secondly I want to use something a bit different pickup wise. Don't all shout 'tool' at once, but I'm thinking about dropping a pair of standard p90s into this beast when its ready. My reasoning being that they seem to be (broadly) similar in build to the lumps in my 4001, albeit with the wrong number of poles. I haven't checked dimensions yet, and in all honesty I will give this a go regardless of wheter its genius or insanity, but has anyone else tried anything similar? Another reason for trying p90s is that the thundertrons that I really want are on the pricey side!

I swapped my wren and cuff Phat Phuk Bass for a sansamp VT. Top sort of genuine honest kind of chap. Trustworthy, honest and reliable. Cheers matey

I had the ashdown drive plus. it's a good pedal, but more grrr than raaah. you'll get more raaah from a muffer IMHO.
