recently bought a Diamond Fireburst very good with Precision/flats/valve amp midswitch on it is no use to me, otherwise great bang for bucks.
3. Until you come back to me - Aretha Frankiln one stop shop for the best of Mr Rainey it's got it all
4.
Just been reading a few interviews and stuff on tinternet with CK. She keeps talking about her playing Bass on 'Mash' the TV dates, and no mention of the film, and also at a Bass clinic sometime ago, CR said he played on the Mash theme. So you may well have a point. To confuse matters, there seems to be two different Mash TV versions knocking about. And both sound very different in styles... Garry
Mr Rainey played on the film soundtrack I don't know who did the TV show
5. yes I write some things start from the Bass, others less so. it's a good place to start, writing from the bottom up.
6. I like his playing and also the fact he was performing on high quality tunes it's quite a fertile peroid that Costello era it's the sh*t to hear great bass playing on great songs
7. and Guild Pilot Re-issue by DeArmond which is pretty much Fender Korea I think these are very good value for money, I just changed the nut and pick ups

10. I have a Boss pq3b probably scarce now you can use it as a notch filter the pq3b I like more than the new Boss EQ pedal.
11. lots of good stuff on Black Arc I like the Hardware and Zillatron records too
12. no use to you but looking fairly seriously at one myself. (I live in NZ) Apparently discontinued, whoever the compressor guru is on talkbass rates these with a vengeance.
13. they are just re-packaged, I don't know what type of Flats they are. Because I am told La'Bella make more than one type. We have not had LaBella strings in NZ for many years. I got the Sadowsky sets from Australia after some research into string manufacturing. they sound good. I use the set with a 105E string LaBella also make a headless flat set which I'm seriously considering on my Steinberger Ernie Ball flats are D'Ad Chromes, just in a different bag.
14. Hi MrLloyd, Sadowsky flats are La'Bellas if they are easier to source.
15. James Brown is a good place to start. Cold Sweat indeed.
16. a big factor will be in what part of Nippon it was actually made in. For instance if it was made in the Manchurian part it might be worth less than a Korean but more than the Dutch East Indies
17. I mean sh*t if you can't love a Steinberger you are the one with a problem
18. left handed , play right handed pretty much the way it was back then I think in NZ there might be 1 in a 100 chance of finding a left handed bass
19. I don't like saying he's the best but he's the best the trio stuff with Pert and Gadd is a great gig take the A Train indeed
20. and of course So What- Miles Davis

22. not that it matters most of the general public hate both political flavors offered to them as 'Democracy' little changes IME I agree with Mr Marsalis. And yes it's far wider than just music students Parents of students are often the worst the $ cost of the lesson is established before any discussion on course content, application, resources etc. often VGS I think modern life is quite back to front.
