1. The band i started 2015 have disbanded in november but im rehearsing with an all new band at the moment so hopefully i`ll be going out entertaining people and enjoying myself again early next year, also the possibilty of an AC/DC tribute band with the same lads with a fat Angus provisionally called KFC/DC (my name suggestion) I just enjoy playing and i dont mind taking the micky out of myself one bit, its all about smiles on faces at the end of the night.
2. I was never a Specials fan or anything from that genre but he made other people happy and entertained them with his music for that I raise a glass. RIP
3.
I could "get out" every day from now until the end of time & I still wouldn't like Motown & Stax stuff. It does absolutely nothing for me, never has, never will.
This ^ it does nothing for me either and Im still a metal fan.
4. I`ll have the board if you still have it, pm me your details. Cheers Jeff
5. Did you change to a heavier string gauge when you had it switched? looks to me to be the same as Geoff has said, give the truss rod a tighten and see if its any better, there are some very good youtube tutorials and its not as daunting a job as you may think (unless its siezed).
6. R.I.P to one of my true music heroes, the world will be a quieter place now.
7. I will be there, i know where the place is now cos i work round the corner! would anyone actually be interested in having a play of my `Funder Jeff Bass` (jazz on a budget) that i knocked together a few years back? if so i`ll bring it.
8.
many felicitations and a wondrous festive period to you all!
Yeah like wot e said!^^
9. my Hohner and my Westone suffered from this and a liberal dose of coppaslip then maxing out the tuning both ways (without strings) to get the threads covered sorted it out.
10. Bought a pedalboard from Martyn, no problems whatsoever, good crack and a pleasure to deal with. Cheers jeff
11. Dunno about this year but next years will be my Alpher Cobia, with a nice buckeye burl top, maple neck, 4 strings and a single Nordy Bigman pup with active dooddahs, roll on september when i get this baby only downside is i pass my 50 years on this planet mark every cloud
12. I used to have one and found when playing up to about the 4th fret if i moved my arm and hand back even slightly i could bend the neck and choke the strings, found this with a LTD as well.
13. ive just started the ball rolling for an Alpher Cobia thats being built for my 50th in September so hopefully this is my last gas attack of my 40`s haha
14. so thats what an orgasmatron looks like i`ll get me coat
15. Ive just put an order in for a Cobia as im not a fan of single cuts, similar top wood, maple neck and single active pup for my 50th in september so thats a similar build time, I must be the first person ever to be looking forward to hitting the big 5-0 haha. That is a very very impressive looking instrument indeed.
16. i built a P from a jap squier with a knackered neck and put a flamed maple J neck on it and a mirror pickguard and badass2 for the lynott look, it plays, looks and sounds great. It also maybe for sale shortly due to other purchases. (badass not in pic)
17. Ive just spent a pleasurable half an hour looking through all the pages of this thread and ive not noticed another one the same as my latest addition, i bought this off our guitarist as he doesnt play it and compared to my previous NS2005 I much prefer the neck on this and I couldnt get on with the curved body shape, its a Spector Q5 Pro in black cherry I know theyre at the cheaper end of the range but this one plays nice, sounds nice with the EMG Hz`s and EMG pre and has a very decent B string. 21. Here is a pic of the pre amp, the SSD pups come with a tonepump jnr, this looks extremely standard so I dont think anything has been changed. 22. Ive just bought this Spector off our guitarist, he thought it was a Performer but I know it isnt, as far as I can tell its a Korean made Legend but its got EMG Hz`s rather than the more common SSD`s and I cant find much info on Legends with EMG`s, its a bolt on neck and Black Cherry finish, im pretty sure someone will be able to fill in the gaps for me. My plan is to A/B it with a G&L Tribute L2500 and sell the one i least prefer. Ta in advance.
