Great that you've gigged it! The sustain is a bit of a marvel (along with the clarity and punch). When I gigged mine, it spent around 80% of the time in passive. That lacewood body is a thing of beauty too - I don't think that I've seen one previously. Fantastic instruments that don't appear for sale too often (these earlier models anyway). i'm sure that all SIIs are fantastic but I prefer the first few years of production.
Yeah I was expecting the sustain as I also gig a 1983 Steinberger XL-2. I used to gig a Status 4000 in the early 90s but went back to wood. Still a great bass and maybe I'll commission a new one from Rob at some point. (with wrap around LEDs)

Well it's done it's first gig under my custodialship !! (is that a word) It sounded great. Endless sustain and (for me) it actually works better when passive. Very good, very nice.

I have been using a PF500 for just over 5 years now. First one went pop, but no trouble with the replacement. Its probably done 300 gigs since I bought it
Not sure; I've had it since the 90s; it's s/n is 4xx.
according to the status data bass, there's another series 2 with a 4XX and it says 1989
I'm planning a trip to Colchester this year, wanting to get an S2 Classic 5-string in my clammy grasp! Let us know how the gig goes!
will do
I'm living in the Tri-Status area...
what year is the headless?
What's the serial number? Looks eerily like my old 1986 series II which was SN #263... Lovely basses, and nowhere near as "hi-fi/sterile" as some folk make out
It's #166

My thanks to Big Rob of this parish for the amazing Status that he sold me A 1985 bass with a Bubinga front and Lacewood back. Active with knobs and GMT p/ups. Sounds great, gets it's first gig this weekend

It's a signature bass guitar based on Steve's #1. It must have the logo, it's part of the deal. I support West Ham but I also enjoy watching other teams play. It's a great bass and if the badge is not for you, that's cool. I have a Status bass incoming so I have to move some gear on but if this doesn't sell, great. I had some excellent news last night from my builder as my extension is about to start. It's come in about £5K under budget!!
Lovely looking bass !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know what year it was made and does it have the adjustable tone pump ??
this from PJ at Spector > also the serial number indicates made in 2013 which was after the qty 30 LE run. Adjustable tone pump, do you mean the overall output, yes I think it does

Down to £700.00 Because of GAS this needs to go too. Immaculate condition with fender gig bag and still strung with factory fitted rounds, the Steve Harris flats are in the case. This plays beautifully and has that Steve Harris sound, even with the rounds on it. No trades please, I need the money If you want any more info just ask. I can ship via insured courier, I still have the original Fender shipping box

Price reduced to £1200 GAS Attack. Here's my wonderful Spector Euro 4LX. The spec for this is that it has all maple wings, not alder like the others. It's an amazing bass guitar, beautifully made with the tone pump pre amp and EMG. Volume/volume/bass/treble (I think, I haven't used it for ages, hence selling) I bought it to use in my Police tribute but I haven't used it as I don't have the right outfit (Think Synchronicity live tour) and I nearly always use my Bravewood. The bass is almost immaculate as I've only gigged it a handful of times and it lives in it's gig bag. I'm looking for £1350 and can arrange a courier no problem. Your welcome to come to Deal where I live, or Folkestone where I work. I make a lovely cup of tea and there will be biscuits too. No Trades unless it's a Headless Status 2000 or S2. More pics available when I've taken them. Message me and I'll photograph what ever part you would like to see. I have to sell, I just can't keep everything anymore. I know I'll regret it but I've just got too many basses and not enough money
