1. Price reduced to £1200 GAS Attack. Here's my wonderful Spector Euro 4LX. The spec for this is that it has all maple wings, not alder like the others. It's an amazing bass guitar, beautifully made with the tone pump pre amp and EMG. Volume/volume/bass/treble (I think, I haven't used it for ages, hence selling) I bought it to use in my Police tribute but I haven't used it as I don't have the right outfit (Think Synchronicity live tour) and I nearly always use my Bravewood. The bass is almost immaculate as I've only gigged it a handful of times and it lives in it's gig bag. I'm looking for £1350 and can arrange a courier no problem. Your welcome to come to Deal where I live, or Folkestone where I work. I make a lovely cup of tea and there will be biscuits too. No Trades unless it's a Headless Status 2000 or S2. More pics available when I've taken them. Message me and I'll photograph what ever part you would like to see. I have to sell, I just can't keep everything anymore. I know I'll regret it but I've just got too many basses and not enough money
2. gigged my Flea for the first time in 5 weeks, yesterday. I still can't believe how good it sounds. I really like the sound with both pickups full up and wide open on the tone. I'm nicely adding to the relicing too!!
3. There are Jap reissues. This is a fretless one that I have. They are out there, you just have to search and be patient
4. yep I've got a white euro 4, like the SE-5, but without the ltd number but still solid maple. excellent build quality and tones.
5.
I'm with The Howlin' Wolves....been 5 years next year!
Looks like a great band, perhaps I'll get out and see you next year, as I'll have more time on my hands
6.
There's no reason they shouldn't be reunited for an article in a magazine anyway isn't there?
I agree, maybe I'll approach the bass mag or guitarist
7.
How much is 'serious money' ?
he only said serious money. He doesn't use it because he's a fiver man now. I asked for an idea of money but he just said serious money so I decided not to go there. I've got enough gear and it would have made an interesting story for a magazine and to get both the l/h and r/h reunited but, to be honest, I have found it and it was great to find it. Without the internet it would have been impossible. It's not the first bass I've found using basschat either
8. who do you play with Spongebob?
9.
Well you did say you'd "dearly" love to find it :-) Nothing wrong with someone not wanting to sell it - at least you know where it is now & times change, they might need the cash in the future & can give you a bell.
I agree.
10.
Just looking this up and Im so glad it turned up and how much of a trip is it that it IS the bass from the advert !!! Top stuff !!!!
yep it turned up but the current owner doesn't want to let it go. Only for serious money. I'm not sure if older Jacksons can command serious money but I couldn't really justify it. Shame really, as I wanted to buy it when it was at BEM but I just couldn't afford it
11. It would appear that I'm starting to wear the finish, where my wrist rests against the body. I normally gig in a long sleeved shirt and the cuff button is wearing the paint away. It looks great actually. The paint is quite soft. Still sounds fab though and I'm finding that I'm dialing the bridge pickup in (a lot)
12. I've got a 1983 XL-2. A great piece of kit. Almost mint too. Plug in leg rest, later tuners
13.
I also love the fender flats, I'm going to keep rounds on my P, are the Fender rounds any good ? What are the stock strings on it at the moment ? I've only ever used Roto rounds (on my Jazz Bass Special because it's the law that you have to use those strings on that bass) an they would be horrible on the Flea
the stock rounds sound great, especially as they are almost dead now. Roto rounds would sound fine. I've used them for over 30 years but I'm going to put some fender flats on it
14. where are you based Geoff?
15. the 74 does indicate the year
16. yep I heard it too. Excellent. I might even buy the album
17. I was in GAK on saturday and saw this. NURSE!!!!!!!!
18. new leads, maybe strings,
19. Peter sold me an aria SBR-150 with actives modified by him. He was a really nice guy. I traded my Manson explorer bass in against it. This was late 86 maybe even early 87
20. take the neck off and look for any markings on it and the body
21. very nice, just like mine GLWTS
22. Back in about 1993 ish I auditioned for ex Gillan and Ozzy guitarist, Bernie Torme. I knew the singer and the drummer was a friend and former band mate. Bernie Videoed the audition. It was ok, the songs were raw and not very well structured but I'd done my homework. A few weeks later Bernie called me saying that the job had gone to someone else because he wanted this guys brother to manage the band. I was disappointed, naturally. I had grown up listen to the Ian Gillan band and it was an amazing experience playing with Bernie and I loved all that trem stuff and harmonics. Then I went to see a show and was amazed how average the bass player was. So there you go, try not to take it personally. (I played at a wedding with Bernie, about 12 years ago. Bernie Torme in a wedding band, it was awesome)
23.
Let's not forget the red fretless 8-string Hamer Explorer thing...I hope he collected his bet money for that one...
Can I find one these b*ggers. Of course not
24.
He also played Ibanez Musician and I remember white Spector that he played during Synchronicity tour.
I also have these in my Police tribute
25.
The ones I remember are the Seinberger stick and the most famous for me are the precision fretless ones - one red and one natural if I remember rightly
I have all these in my Police tribute
