  1. So, Which knob is best for metal? Aw c'mon!!!! Somebody had to say it......!!!!!!
  2. It will disable the bypass switch which sometimes sticks or partially shorts. Looping with a guitar cable would make things work normally if this was a fault otherwise you're back to where you were. What was the result of bypassing the pre? Good luck solving prob. G.
  3. Have you tried looping the FX Out to FX In? (If it has one?) G.
  4. We really need to see a side pic of the heel to see if the 'Hofner heel split' has hit this one - due to the cantilever design of the bottom of the neck & the fact that the stress ran along the grain of the heel. The majority of old Hofners I have seen have had this repair. Repaired properly it affects nothing. G.
  5. If I took a bass on holiday with us, she'd split me with it. G.
  6. Listen to the words of 'Downtown Train' - he's a stalker. G.
  7. Most Septics I know/have met thought Robbie & Robin Williams were the same & couldn't believe he had anything to do with singing. Those who lived here & knew better were of the usual mixed opinion of mixed personal preference. G.

  9. Laney RB3 from Nick. Well packaged and arrived within 48h. Perfect. Buy with confidence. G.
  10. I still have one - it's great. Although I have a Bugera 2000 I still use this for big gigs.
  11. . .Look for a Peavey TNT 130 - it'll last a while. There's a current thread about it. Shouldn't be expensive either G.
  12. Lovely. Case is original. I had a 62 V3 and, apart from a different guitar the case was pretty much identical. Paper over pine, but looks good. G.
  13. Peavey = advantage - nuke proof = disadvantage = weighs about the same as a small planet.
  14. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only on Basschat!!!!!!!!!!!! G.
  15. I had a Stinger on a Sub - treble was vicious. There was a fix - swap pos. of white and yellow wires, if I remember. Well worth checking. G.
  16. Don't mess around, Jon - give it to us straight......... 😁
  17. I don't know why the Sire M Series never gets a mention here - I know it's not PJ but with twin humbuckers in series/single/parallel switching, active/passive and that great Marcus Miller pre, it's defo worth a look. I have an M7 and it's my goto fretted. G.
  18. So why make the nut out of soft metal? a right bu**er. G.
  19. If your truss rod is 2 way, can you replace the adjustment nut? G.
  20. The old Dimarzio J pickup was a dual coil in a jazz shell & could be switched parallel or Series, but, as far as I can see there is now no 5 string equivalent. G.
  21. I'm in Wishaw & could lend you a 5 string fan fret Thomann Special if you could get near enough to meet. G.
