Didn't really play at all for 20 years. Still had a bass, would pick it up and think I can't even play it anymore, what's the point? Decided to learn to play again-took 2 years to really get it back. OP, check out some on line bass lessons/tutorials. Really helped me out and now play better than I ever could. I glad I had the break from playing as I enjoy it more than ever. And it looks like I'll be getting together with a bunch of old mates soon. Yeah, we're getting the band back together. Enjoy yourself dude.

I had an ET2280 just like the red one there. First bass, cost me £30. 1978 maybe. Played OK, I took it all apart and used the parts on different basses. Don't miss it.

I live much too far away, I have been thinking of doing this for a while. Cool project to do. Keep us posted.

Have you tried moving the amp to another area of the house? Plug the amp into a kitchen socket perhaps, if it still buzzes it's the main wiring, if it goes away it will be a problem with the wiring in the room you had it in before.

I use an OC3 and a delay pedal-DD3. Massive thick but not muddy sound.

Lowering the pups on mine cured the overload. And altering the truss-rod with that wheel thingy is a doddle.

Yup, the treadle works well on theFV-50, and it has an adjustment knob on the side to control the volume at which the pedal starts its control.

I have a Shuttle 9.2. What a great amp. Mine's going nowhere.

I've got a Boss FV-50. Works well. got mine for £60 new. The impedance difference has to do with what kind of instrument is controlling it. A keyboard would need the FV-70.

I made a wooden box for mine.

The band I'm in has a couple of weak points so I tailored my sound to make up for them. The band now sounds a lot fuller and all members have a chance to shine.

As far as his voice goes, the first night went very well. Fantastic medley also. It would be great to see them over here with this show.

Rechargable in everything for me.

The double-neck is different. It's a sunburst with gold pickguards. Looks a lot smaller than the Jetglo one. Managed to download last nights show, listened to the first half-sounding good.

Good point Subsonic. I changed strings for a new set and found that I liked the older strings better. Still had life in them, so I put put the old set back on. Had to change them eventually, they don't last forever, only changed the old strings because the E was getting a bit wooly and losing volume. Maybe if I just boiled the E from that set I could put them back on.
