  1. The whole between pickup and neck. There is a thread about someone making them but the link lead nowhere.
  2. Does anyone know where I can buy a thumb rest with one hole that can be attached to the hole on the pick guard? I’ve done the usual internet search and like the Zero Mod style but not the price. The thumb rest needs to be black or clear. Paddy.
  3. I thought it was a great venue and sound. Absolutely rammed! There is a little bar upstairs that was hardly used.
  4. I watched The Idles being supported by The Crows last night in Cardiff’s Tramshed. Two excellent bands that put on a great show.
  5. I tried all different options from metal, gut, weed whackers, pretend guts, rs4000 (which felt like two different sets of strings), bumping stings and anything in between. All had merits and downfalls. A lot of money spent but I would often pick up used sets, which do appear on this site. This will save a bundle and you get back what you pay it you don’t like them. I also tried a few options from the Innovation range and settled with the Silver Slaps as my preference. There’s a fair sustain from the Innovations and not too harsh on the slap. They lasted and absolute age as well. Innovation may have other sets available now as this was a couple of years ago and I now just play bass guitar. The above was my journey and my preference - others may have differing opinions.
  6. I’m at the back with the drummer doing my thing (band thing) but secretly I would like to move forward a couple of steps and perhaps do some shouty backing vocals! Ths week at practice we tried my debut song that I wrote and it sounded ok - this might give me a little more confidence to at least move nearer a mic and take half a step forward 😜
  7. Received pickups from Steve today. Great comms and super speedy delivery. Top man.
  8. I might be wrong but I think you would struggle to find an A in a similar material to the D&G of the Rs4000. Does the A sound too metallic/harsh when slapped? It might be easier to change the whole set eg Innovations. I suggested this as this was the route I took from the Rs4000’s. Its an expensive undertaking though.

  10. Just bought a p bass from Andy who’s a really nice guy with a proper beard! Pleasure to do business with and all comms dealt with in a swift manner. Cheers Andy.
  11. I have a TB500 and Super Compact and can happily play at home at low volume with a good tone and not bother the wife (I’ve just asked her btw and she agreed!)
  12. Would the black p and maple jazz neck being sold by eubassix suit your needs?
  13. Hey Porter on the double bass.
  14. Lovely. I wish I was in such good condition - we are nearly the same age! GLWTS
  15. Fantastic. Your bass sounds bloody great.
  16. They do turn up quite often on Basschat! I think there was one very recently advertised.
  17. I absolutely love mine - but haven’t owned masses of other basses to compare it to. Its a colour that I wouldn’t have considered previously but I couldn’t stop looking at one on the ‘for sale’ thread. The reviews are good and they appear to hold their value.
  18. Matt bought a pedal from me. Great guy to do business with. Paddy.
  19. I love the colour of my Flea Jazz - shell pink! If anyone had suggested this colour a few years ago I would have been 🤮. Funny how tastes change.
  20. I can recommend the EA Wizzy - small, lightweight and great for DB. Brilliant little handle that doubles as a tilt back for the cab.
  21. Nano Bass Muff PI Slightly scruffy front panel where I put white dots as markers and then tried to remove them (lesson learnt!) This pedal has hardly been used, includes original packaging and leaflets. Price includes postage. Paddy.
  22. Great supportive advice above. Stew and your post didn’t read as if it was a sham.
  23. Well done Stew. Interesting new Avatar!
