They need to be more specific - I could mime chords but not sure I could mime the melody with a walking bass....

Surely, SURELY, the wedding couple will move their date for you? I saw this listing by chance, it's badly worded and doesn't mention the words Ibanez or Musician anywhere in the listing so it may go for cheaps!
So here's the story. The band goes to a new studio Friday night for a couple of hours. Very nice too, big room and good kit. Rehearsal was good, we pay our twenty quid and off we go. Happened to go out without my mobile yesterday and when I got home 8 missed calls and a text from said studio "ring me back ASAP". I phoned back to be told "a Shure 58 has gone missing and you were the only band in last night, so you must have nicked it" "Whoa" I said, hang on a minute, where's your evidence? "You were the only band in so it must have been you" says he. Now I haven't been with this band long but we all work and I can't imagine for a minute that anyone's stolen anything. Unbeknown to me, he's also texted our guitarist, full of swearing and accusations of theft, gonna get the police involved etc etc. Anyway, long story short the band knows nothing about a nicked microphone and we phone him and tell him so. An hour or so after this, I get another phone call from the studio - he's discovered that his mate had taken the Mic home with him without telling him! To be fair, he did apologise, and so he should I reckon - just handled it all wrong! Question is do we go back? LC
+1 to a free practice. Which rehearsal rooms is it?

You send the bass before you've been paid for it?? You're the lovely chap not him...

Blimey, Mani joins BassChat! And now ...Fumps!!!!!
chaypup replied to Clarky's topic in General Discussion
I'm great at meeting famous people because i never know who they are. I was at Glastonbury, in the beer tent on the edge of the pyramid stage, we was laughing at the P*ss police when a big fella opened conversation with me & a mate. we chatted to him for ages offering pointers at the lesser known bands & just basically having a laugh with a stranger. As we walked away my mate gushed at how cool i was when talking to him........i had no idea what he was on about. It was Jonah Lomu. Being from a Yorkshire thats a big deal......i just never recognize people until later. but i stand by my comment. people are just people But it was nice to meet such a friendly warm guy, who just happened to be talented at what he did.
My ex came back to the tent one morning at Glastonbury saying she'd had a lovely chat with a guy called 'Cyril' who'd played the guitar and sung a bit. A few months later we're watching the telly when she goes 'Oh wow! That's Cyril!' 'It's not Cyril' says I '- It's SEAL!'
