1.
In the UK, but fretted. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WESTONE-THUNDER-3-BA...=item35ae4cba5c
Nice! I never understand though why basses are "becoming rare and collectable"? Is someone burning a load of them?
2. Count me in please good sir!

Except in a Benny Hill sketch. Why you no rissen?
This was my first ever bass! Hated the colour and promptly did a respray job on it. Doesn't look too bad in retrospect.
5. Thunder 1A just went for £67! Couldn't buy as he wouldn't deliver! Arghhhhhhhhhh! Very weird - I put a bid on it the other day, and now the bass has disappeared from my watch lists and bid history - I s that because the seller has deleted it because it didn't go for enough???? EDIT: now found it through my sent messages http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...23#ht_500wt_951

8. Glen Cornick - For the haircut. David Steele from The Beat Mick Dempsey, as The Cure were the band that got me into playing the bass in the first place

10. He's a great player - I had a shock once when I came to play bass on Mrs Robinson once......
11. no no no, this is all wrong - it's not the gear, it's the CLOTHES! Swap your jeans and t-shirt, for some super-flared corduroy, some kind of pyschedelic shirt, star-shaped sunglasses and possibly a big funky hat to go on your 'fro and the funk will come my friend!
12.
It's OK, mate. I think most people respond to my threads because of the avatar.
Those sexy avatars really confuse me - in my mind peteacademy is a sexy redhead.
13. Hi all, this is for sale for £20 plus postage if you're not nearby. Its nice and thick and has rucksack style straps etc. Need to sell quick to get the westone hard case thats on the 'bay at the moment! Cheers
14. Apparentley "The Fish" doesn't even realise he's playing a musical instrument, he just likes hitting the big wood thing he found.
15. Thank you good people of basschat! I haven't played since last night when it started hurting and I have been icing it and using ibuprofen gel. Appointment made to see GP tomorrow. Thanks again! Ps that's icing it as in massaging it with ice, not cake icing!
16. Thanks for the advice. Looking around the internet, it seems that ice massage is the best way to help this - anyone tried it and had success?
17.
Jo Whiley ?!?!? Please no!! I couldn't stand her gushing love for EVERY act and fake enthusiasm that every song/band is the best she's ever heard....
+1 Mark Lamarr would be a good stand-in, if anyone. I'm not sure he can join in with the piano though....
18. Thanks for the replies. I've been playing for 6 years but had a break for a few months whilst I travelled. Since coming back I've got right back into it with various projects and am playing between 1hour and 6 hours a day. However my hand was ok until I started learning a load of ska songs which are all down the bottom end of the neck so maybe that's it No history of injury with the hand or anything like that. Don't want to rest it too much as I have a load of songs to learn for gigs coming up! Cheers!
19. I expect this is covered elsewhere but I can't seem to find it.... I am experiencing a pain in my left hand between the last 2 knuckles when I have been practising recently. Is this the ligaments? Should I push on through it so me hand will get stronger or do I need to rest it? Thanks for any advice!
20. Surely he'snot going to get the BIn price for this? Or am I out of date with my idea of prices for these? You could get this one from the States for less!
21.
I'm currently learning Oh What A Night by The Four Seasons (don't ask why!). I've managed to work out the majority of the song, but can't get my head around the tricky (for me anyway) little run that happens way up the neck at around the 1.56 mark. Any help would be much appreciated as it's driving me mad. Cheers. JPS
This video has it pretty clear.
