1. Loving Quincy's version of Superstition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3teWjVPNmQ
2. Oh wow this looks nice! If anyone wants to buy by Thunder II Fretless I'm in for this
3. Found this lurking on my iPod when I went for a run earlier. What. A. Groove! Ps. The voice sounds a lot like Tracy Chapman-Stick to me!
4. First, seperate body and neck (only for bolt-ons!) Wrap body in bubble wrap and a layer or high density foam (bought as off-cuts from my local haberdashers - 50p for all you can carry!) Place neck in cardbard tube also from haberdashers for the price of 0p Wrap head in bubble wrap and more foam and place in shoe box. Gaffa the shoe box to the tube. Place tube inside box you've now put the body in and gaffa the lot together. Stick on address and draw on moustache, smile and eyes with Tipp-ex and voila! One very well packaged bass at a total cost of some bubble-wrap and a roll of Gaffa.
5.
the body of the guitar was made by now non existent luthier in Poland and I replaced the neck with a fretless one last year. The whole guitar was given a respray at the same time.
He made the bass and then simply ceased to exist??
6. After reading this topic I booked tickets to see Vintage Trouble in Cardiff last night. And........ they had a few good numbers but waaaaaaay too much filler material. It sounded like a lot of the songs were written for Middle America and I was blanded out by halfway into the gig. It wasn't helped by the fact that me and Mrs pup were told to f*ck off by some nice respectable-looking chaps who obviously don't like dancing at gigs!
7.
Absolutely no flexibility with my employer whatsoever. A real pain working saturdays as well. If I were to work through my break all that would happen is I'd get knabbed to still work to the end of my shift. Booking days off is a real nightmare, last week I had to book my leave for next year, up until April 2013, and there is talk of limiting availability.
Limiting availabilty to take your holidays that are stated in your contract? Tell them to pi$$ off!
8. This place is supposed to be quite good - http://www.cardiffguitars.co.uk/
9. Free bump for a GREAT bass!
10. I had an audition last week, during which the singer belittled and berated the guitarist and drummer and then refused to sing any of their original songs blaming the guitarist for not being good enough for her to sing along to!. I let the guys know that there were singers out there who weren't complete bitches and walked out of that one.....
11. Ooo I'm just a little bit north of the river sorry...
12.
See thats why you can get mini cameras that go into hats and Bluetooth headsets. So you can record the looks on their faces for prosperity
If that's intentional then you're a genius If not, then it's posterity
13. Who?

15.
Franconia Jazz copy - not sure whether these are Japanese or Korean, but looks tidy. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item19cb1a2cbc 1980s Aria http://www.ebay.co.u...=item336ecd4014
The description is genius!
Considered desirable and very playable. Tonal range from warm jazzy to more treble. Is of shorter scale, which is not to be confused with a beginner bass...for example it is the the same scale length as the Bass Paul McCartney commonly used in The Beatles.
16. I love Daoins - shame the pups hardware on this one ain't original http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/daion-dawn-power-mark-xx-b-bass-guitar-1983-handmade/91891825
17. What's this then? http://www.ebay.co.uk:80/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170738075365&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 Some kind of bitsa with a Thunder neck and a Westbury Track II body or a factory prototype or just something I've never seen before?
18. For an audition later today.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbkv5xOLvnA
19. Haven't heard much from Bubinga5 around these parts lately.......
20. Gareth Pearson (The virtuoso guitarist) was asked if he was aware of his talent before he started playing guitar and he replied that he didn't have talent he just played for 14 hours a day and worked really hard at it.
21. Played in Mother's Ruin last night in Bristol, It went ok for us apart from a couple of key changes to songs the guitarist decided on at the last minute . However, the band we were supporting were AWESOME! Check 'em out - Schnauser . The bass player was especially good - really beautiful melodies.
22. I think if one's parents are musicians or musically active then it's incredibly hard to tell if it's nature or nurture is responsible for a child's musical ability. If there were a case of a child being adopted into a non-musical family but had been born from a very musical family, or vice versa, then we could see what factors had played the dominant role.
23. The brain's memory capaicity is currently estimated at 2.5 petabytes (according to The Scientific American magazine) anyone know how many songs that is???? Edit: About 800 million!
24. If I think I've forgotten how a song goes, I just shut off my (concious) brain and trust my fingers to do the work. Works (nearly) every time!
25.
Saw this a few days ago, don't know if it's already been posted?
Wow! This is amazing! Love it love it love it love it!
