1. When I used a VHF system, I quite often used to get other users on my frequency, a lot of taxi firms as well, believe it or not, so had to go back to a lead on those occasions. The great digital tv switch over was all about selling analogue frequencies to mobile phone operators for 4G. This has made most wireless musical equipment that also used those frequencies obsolete overnight, however, if it was me, I'd just use it anyway. You're unlikely to be arrested or even noticed, but you might get the odd mobile call out of your amp sometime in the future.
2.
I did think about getting our kick drum skin done but then thought about where most of our gigs are - pubs, where the bass drum is below eye level and hidden behind our singers legs. I went for a banner for behind the band so all the audience could see who we are. Just my 2p worth....
I did both! You never know who may be laying on the floor in front of the band.
3. Being UHF, it would be the AKG for me and the AKG transmitter is considerably more convenient. They are both only single channel so are likely to pick up other transmitters using those frequencies but less likely with UHF. Are the frequencies still legal?
4. I suspect the very disappointed bass playing UK Mail employee bought it back.
5. You can tune a bass but you can't tuna fish!
6. I'd look at and try everything until the 'that's the one' moment.
7. A bit of wet & dry wrapped around the string and use that as a file.
8. How could they possibly lose an amp, that's ridiculous. I suspect that there is now a very disappointed bass playing UK Mail employee.
9. If your cab is between 2 and 8 feet from a boundary, that is a wall, then you will get cancellation of some frequencies. for best bass output stick the cab in a corner if possible. From the master, http://www.billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6388 +1 to the long lead or wireless but don't just listen to yourself on your own, listen to the whole band to see how the bass sounds, it might surprise you, but then again, it might not. +1 to raising the cabinet and adding more speakers. I have read that the Streamliner 600 does not have the bass of the 900, might even be true.
10. Elite Stadiums for me.
11. Here. http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/p/916200/ernie-ball-6102-amp-caster-set-pop-in-socket/
12. If my memory serves me well, which it probably doesn't, that could be a Triumph cabinet. http://www.voxac100.org.uk/triumph.htm catalogue pictures half way down the page.
13. If the amp isn't too precious to you I'd force a bit of PVA wood glue into the joint using a syringe and screw through from the outside using screw cups. The screw cups would make the repair look like it was meant to be like that.
14. Just about to start our 28th year, frightening. Don't forget that rock started in the 60s, The Who, Cream, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Vanilla Fudge, Pink Floyd, Yardbirds, Zeppelin, the list is virtually endless.
15. Been there, done that on a Hoyer I once owned. Wired the pickups straight to an on/off switch then on to jack. Sounded great!
16. If a textured pain finish is good enough for Martin, Court, Nexo and Turbosound, to name just a few, then I'm quite happy to belong to this elite with my 69er.
17. Black pudding.
18. Had bacon sandwiches for tea tonight and very nice they were too!
19. I'd have one of these but again no left handed.
20. Going up!
21. Actually, the guitarist does what he's told when it comes to volume so no problem there. As an aside, he's just started using a lunch box, very handy for sandwiches, oops, wrong lunch box, one of these, http://www.ztamplifiers.com/products/lunchbox.html. A hell of a lighter than a flight cased AC30. As I do most of the singing, does that mean I can officially refuse to carry any gear then? Hang on, That would mean that the twat, I mean the drummer, would carry more. We're back to square one.
