1. I’ve read your post and had a look at the manuals for your gear to find out what they do and how they operate. I have a couple of questions to start with: What sort of settings did you have your bass and amp eq’s set at? Have you tried your bass straight into the amps active input, without the compressor in the effects loop? How did it sound? Have you tried your bass straight into the amps active input, with the compressor in the effects loop but with the bypass switch enabled? How did it sound? 2. Korg GA Custom Chromatic Tuner - £29. Strobe tuner, great for low B etc and has many, many, pretty moving lights...oooh!
3. Yes, Mono are comfy straps for me :-)
4. There's relicing and roadworn and then there's that strat!!! Love the idea, would hate to own one though.
5.
If you have a sax player you could always do "Pick Up The Pieces" as the "Above Average Weight Band"!
....or should it be "Pick Up The Pizzas"?

7. Have a look at the following. It probably will cause more questions than give answers....lol http://buildyourguitar.com/resources/lospennato/index.htm
8. Well bubinga I guess its just you and me (and several million others ) who think its a great song . There's also quite a few cracking bass lines in the bands back catalogue that are great to work out and play along to.
9. Have you checked the internal fuse? I managed to find this photo off the web and added an arrow showing the location. Fingers crossed
10. I (and a few others on here) use a Sony DWZ wireless system. I use the B30 version but there are several options available here: http://www.sony.co.uk/pro/products/broadcast-products-dwz-series-digital-wireless-packages I bought mine through Thomann as they often have good pricing on these.
11. I think free beer = drunk band = bad gig! Are they paying their bar staff in beer for the night?
12. Just sold my Skjold '92 bass to Si. Great comms and nice guy to deal with. Highly recommended. Hope you have fun with the bass Mike
13. I've sent a wireless back for repair and got a replacement back within a month. I guess it depends how busy they are (summer hols etc.) and also if they are waiting on parts. I would give them a quick call to check. They are usually very good with their service.
14. Thanks guys.....guess I was to slow for this one! Doh
15. Has this bass gone? Your duplicate ad said "traded"
16. I have a Tecamp Puma 900 and like it a lot.You can dial in a wide range of tones with plenty of umph when required!
17. I emailed Nordstrand tonight at 9.45pm with a techy question about one of their custom / legacy pre-amps. 19 minutes later i had the answer I was looking for.....yes 19 minutes!!! As the advert goes..... "If Carslberg did pre-amp customer support....."
18. Whats the make, model etc of the bass? Is the jack loose? Does it need a new battery? How far are the pickups from the strings? Is the amp OK? Is the lead OK?
19. Spooky....I got done by a seller at the start of the year....for a set of DR Neon whites! All got resolved as I'd paid by Paypal and got my money back. The mods here were very swift to follow up and the guy was quickly relegated to the ex-member bin. I hope this is just a hiccup in communication and gets sorted for you quickly.
20. I'm amazed that no-one has asked if the Mars bar is in perfect condition or if it has been [s]re-licked[/s] reliced!
21. Just got my tickets......if I set off now on my bike I might just make it in time :-)
22. Hey Basic5, Well spotted! Actually I had cut and paste from one of my other threads and didnt change the preamp type. I double checked tonight and the preamp isn't an Aguilar but is a Bartolini NTMB 918F and is 18v.....oops! I bought the bass second hand in its current configuration in the USA and assumed everything was standard. After looking at a few other Basics on the net the bridge looks very similar with the exceptions of the sides of the base plate not being raised. There are also other basics with the same bridge as mine so it may be a slight production change? It has a dual truss rod neck and is serial number 4844.
