1. Oooh.....subscribed and looking forward to the next instalments. This is going to be a pair of basses VERY different to normal. You seem to have listed a lot of things people tend not to like on a bass - figured "coffee table" top, single cut, chambered, carved top, headless, wide body, more than 4 strings, F-hole, blue-burst, active elecs.....I love the idea of combining them all
2.
I just heard a loud clattering sound from the kitchen.
....preparing a "slap"-up meal no doubt....... Coat got.....
3. Just bought a Roscoe LG3005 from Graham. Great communication throughout. Quick shipping and the packaging was nuclear proof! Easy gent to deal with. Thank you.
4. Hi there, Welcome from another north o' the border! The bass looks a bit like a Hondo II Proffesional that I used to have many, many years ago. Weighed an absolute ton! if you put Hondo II Proffesional into Google you will get some similar images eg: http://www.instrumentwire.com/guitar-ad-e300930014552 Mike

A case of cashing in on the rose tinted first bass spectacles perhaps (if there is such a thing as first bass spectacles,
Oh yes….I too had a pair of those vision enhancing spectacles! My first bass (after bodging together a home made Frankenstein) was a brand spanking new Kay “Les Paul-ish” shaped bass. I was 16 with cash burning in my pocket and I wanted a bass….any bass.

7. Just bought a Samson C-Control & C-Que8 Headphone Amp from Alex. Good deal, great communication and packaging. What more can I say....thanks
8. Looks like a bad refret job to me as you can see where the fretboad wood has been lifted when pulling the old ones out. I guess the frets have been cut to length before fitting and not long enough to be trimmed / dressed afterwards. Also the crowns have been ground pretty flat in places. I wouldnt be too happy with this
9. I've just recently had a new amp shipped from the US. The sender used the US Postal Service (which turned out to be cheaper than any other courier quote I'd been given). Once the package was with UK Customs they sent me a nice letter asking for the duty due and once it was paid I got a spanking new amp for about 60% of the same one over here. When I had tried to get a quote from the usual couriers I use over here, the general response was they might agree to do imports but it would cost a lot more to do this from the UK end. To give you some idea shipping quotes I got for the same item : to arrange and ship from the US end = $110 (£60), to arrange and ship from the UK end = £170. It seems the general rule is its easier to ship OUT of a country than IN. Anyway, more importantly....whats the bass?. Wheres the pics? New? Pre-loved? Good for metal?
10. Lots of good entries I agree :-) Anyone else having trouble loading Lowdown http://soundcloud.co...b/club-retro-75 ? I can get to the page but nothing plays I'll try again later as well.
11. Not sure if anyone's interested but I spotted this Jaydee Calibas 6 on Gumtree. I used to have the 5 string version and it was a great bass. This one seems to have a much better pedigree than mine though! 15. 15 mins 42 seconds of the best band promo I have seen. If that doesn't fill up the gig bookings list I'll hang up my tambourine.
16.
Does the cab have a high pass filter so you can connect a top cab? What are the dimensions and weight? Thanks
Hi, Dimensions are 652mm x 465mm x 423mm (25.7" x 18.3" x 16.7") and 55 lbs each. I originally bought them for when we do larger gigs. I paired them up with my other pair of identical bins for a gig at the Aberdeen Beach Ballroom last year as I thought we might need a bit more weight in the sound. They worked great.....too much in fact that I ended up taking them out and using only one set for a full 5 piece band & drums mic'd up! The cabs have a built in crossover of 12dB / octave low pass at 15Hz. In the manual it says "The TXD-115 includes an internal low-pass crossover network which filters high frequency signals from the bass driver when used in conjunction with two-way enclosures enabling a full range system to be powered from a single amplifier channel without the need for external electronic crossovers." You can come and hear them working if you like. Mike
17. Maybe interested in trades + or - cash..... If its a trade against a bass, I prefer active 5's, maybe a 6 if its nice Not looking for 4's, Fender, Warwick or Ibanez (sorry!). Another trade option could be an Eventide Eclipse. Whatcha got?
