1. Not really an ideal comparison as your Barefaced stack is a mismatch. On that basis alone I'd keep the TKS stuff if I were you (or sell everything except the BB2 and buy another BB2). I'd be interested to hear your thoughts of how the BB2 stacks up against the 1126 (i.e. single cab comparison, not the stack).
2. I wish they'd do a passive only version - I don't use the preamp, and have no plans to!
3. The M7 looks like it could be interesting too. Nice candy apple red coming to the V7 in February as well. I had queried whether they would ever make a p-bass via pm on Facebook and they confirmed they planned to, but they had no idea of when it would happen. Still loving my Sire v7 5 string... I'm a little worried that my incoming ACG custom is going to be so totally different that I'll have some trouble adapting!
4. Sly Stone at a time too. Bobby Vega is proof, if proof was needed, that pick playing can be awesome!
5. Yup... missed the 50s P again, even with a notification that the site had changed...
6. Down to £20 at the minute! Great wee bit of kit.
7. I think Bassman Steve has it about right. If it's for playing you don't need to spend big money. Best P I've played (and in my estimation the best bass I've ever had in my grubby mitts) was a refinished '64 that belongs to a friend (lets say roughly £3k, £3.5k conservatively). 2nd best was a used/abused '83 Squier SQ I bought locally for £100...
8. One word... Maruszczyk!
9. The Rascal bass looks really good. Would love to take one for a spin!
10. Wow, that is stunning!
11. Took a notion to set up a wee home studio so bought a 2011 mac mini on the cheap. Nowt wrong with it as standard for what I'm likely to be doing, but come black Friday I got 16gb ram, 240gb ssd and ezmix2... Already have ez drummer with drum kit from he'll from my last attempt at a home studio. Probably should have got the rock kit in the sale too...
12. Oh my...
13. Wouldn't it be boring if we all liked the same things!
14.
I had a Streamliner and thought the low end was severely anaemic when compared to the heft of the Orange.
My feelings too. Tried a mate's Streamliner 600 a few years ago A/B fashion with my Terror 500 and the Terror ate it for breakfast - same cab, same room, same bass, etc.
15. Seen some woeful excrement in my time, but easily the worst was Cubinate. Dance beats with metal guitar and a "singer" who had nothing to say to the booing crowd except "We are the future c**ksuckers"... Where are they now i wonder... Said nobody ever!
16. Both fantastic looking instruments WoT! Health to enjoy!
17. I wouldn't use this either... But by God I'd enjoy sitting looking at it!
18.
These look like the real deal! What are your guys opinions on cataldo basses and how do they stack up? www.cataldobasses.com/jaebird I'm not throwing anyone's previous ACG feedback back in their face at all! I'm pretty set on the ACG Just wondering what your guys opinions were on the jaebird
That's an apples and oranges comparison you're asking for. ACG are entirely hand build with custom pickups, electronics and hardware... Cataldo look interesting for what they are but I'd lump them in with Limelight in that, to an extent, they're bitsas. Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that (I've considered a JAEbird, a Limelight and ACG in the recent past - the ACG won and the wait is getting tougher!) just not the same craft involved. Just my humble opinion...
19. I have nothing to add except I like the look of this one! http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Arrival-Custom-20-Vintage-Sunburst-Electric-Bass-Guitar-4-Strings-Thunderbird-Bass-Guitar-from-Chinese/2031320100.html?spm=2114.01020208.3.1.uu2NiJ&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_2_79_78_77_80,searchweb201644_5,searchweb201560_8
20. Interested in hearing responses to this too!
21.
Trigger pulled. 7lbs 7ozs of passive SAUCE. Come to Daddy, you strumpet!
Yummy!
22. If you want an actual bass pickup I think nordstrand do a drop-in replacement. Will be pricey and harder to get hold of than anything else mentioned here already though!
23.
Thanks for the T-16 love I'm really really proud of this one, simply cos I don't know if anyone else has done an analogue octave that small before! Personally I think it's just the best thing since sliced bread, but I may be a tad biased so lets wait and see how it stands the test of time! I'm going to try and get some more videos sorted, including one from Andy and hopefully Si too if he's game, but if anyone has any questions feel free to add them on here and I'll get back to you ASAP
Looks awesome Tom! Will be a big seller I think!
24.
It sounds good eh...... I like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cxV5O0_8HM&utm_source=Cog+Effects+Newsletter&utm_campaign=8285274ce5-T16_Release11_2_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_a762863ba2-8285274ce5-88119385&ct=t%28T16_Release11_2_2015%29&mc_cid=8285274ce5&mc_eid=030df6b76b
I'd love to hear this pedal (Any pedal actually) demoed by somebody else...
25. I've wanted one of these forever... Alas my cash is committed elsewhere. GLWTS!
