When a pedal is stomped on, click sound through amp.
andydye replied to pendingrequests's topic in Effects
I've had this with any ehx pedal I've ever had, never with any other brand, I don't use ehx any more and no longer have clicks through my amps... -

[s]For sale (or trade) my Aguilar TLC compressor, used for a little while but I've just got an MXR comp that has the level LED's and give me a bit more control so this isn't getting used anymore. Really musical sounding comp, sweet as an 'always on' or for tightening those slapped notes... There are a couple of very minor marks on the casing and one part of the transfer was smudged from new. Gorgeous new little Amp from Ashdown - CTM-15
andydye replied to Grand Wazoo's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've been musing on a b-15 type sound for a while but wondered about the volume so maybe the 30w one of these would be a start? Need a shop that's got them in so I can try them near Sheffield... -
Hi Andy Sorry im new to this, a holding page ?? is thats whats created when you are going through the paying stage ??? thanks
I'm not entirely sure about this but here goes a sensible-ish sounding set of logic: ...a domain seller 'buys' / assumes the rights to loads of domains and puts their 'temporary page' or 'holding page' there so that no-one else can snag it as it already 'belongs' to them, they then try to sell that domain name...hey presto 'domain retail'!?
Could anyone give sound advice on registering a domain name please ? I have this morning been trying to reg a name for a new site www.funkbass.com when i have been onto various registering sites 123 etc, they say its available, and to go to the checkout and pay. then just before i press the buttons to pay i thought al check myself, so i type www.funkbass.com. into the search bar at the top and low and behold a site has been created !!!, now when i go to some of the sites that perviously said it was free are now saying its in use !! but 123 are still saying its free and pay.. almost as if 123 have put a site up to stop someone else getting it till i have paid, ( which they have not,...... have they ??) can anyone give me clear steps to do this, or the 1 or 2 sites that dont mess around ? Thanks breath in.... breath out..... and..... unstress........
it looks like a holding page to me? http://www.funkbass.com/
Thanks to everyone that was there a most enjoyable night. Thanks to Drew for sorting it all out and the excellent hospitality. If you are that part of the world you owe to yourself to pay him a visit excellent selection of basses and not just the usual suspects.
I trust you got home safe matey? Drew's lounge (literally) is a bass haven filled with all manner of varied and lovely instruments! He really should be on here too (if he isn't already lurking)...
Yup, I'll be there, Drew's place is in Worsley, and parking's pretty much ad hoc on the street. See you there!
Sorry I didn't properly introduce my self matey!

Despite not being able to stay overly long I had a great time meeting Drew and the one or two bc'ers I recognised, if there were any others there I'm sorry I didn't properly introduce myself I now have serious gas for an uber recurve headless 5 string! just gotta buy a new kitchen first
Yes, well having one made (Ruach). He's offered it as an option and I really like the idea but never played one. I like slim (back to front) necks and and found it a little odd that the thicker part was on the E side. Thanks andydye, why not for 4 strings (the new bass will be a 4 string)? Do you play with your thumb on the back of the neck?
It's to do with the shape of your hand as it wraps around the back of the neck, the thinnest point corresponds with the point at which your hand/fingers is/are starting to bend so you get the comfort of a chunky bit in the palm of your hand (also improving the tone as higher mass of neck gives more wood involved to resonate) and the comfort of a skinny neck where your hand is articulating. I do play thumb behind (most of the time) and find it perfectly comfortable in either thumb 'mode' (behind or wrap around)... I guess I'd mebbe not considered it for a 4 string as they always feel a bit small to me nowadays as am a mostly 5 string type chappy so even a chunky p neck feels nice n small...try one matey and see what you think, everyone's hands are different

Have it on both my ACG basses (5 strings) and it's wonderful, really really comfy, never had it on a 4 string though...not sure it'd feel right on a fender p for example...
