1. My current incarnation although I'm going to switch the BMC to after the Octamizer this evening and I'm probably going to move the Proton on shortly as it doesn't get used... > TU2 > Wren&Cuff Pickle Pie B > Catalinbread SFT > 3Leaf Audio Proton > Aguilar TLC > EWS BMC > Aguilar Octamizer > EBC MultiChorus > [sharedmedia=core:attachments:121209]
 2.
This is a great price. My friend recently sold one on eBay, and it went for £550 and it had a huge gash in the front of the tolex.
Thanks mate, always good to have a 'market check' when pricing stuff, good to know it's priced about right including the all important BC discount!
 3.
Very interested - does this unit have any kind of built in limiter? My vocalists have been known to drop a mic in the past!
Cool mate Flippin' vocalists, they need sticky hands, gaffa tape perhaps? Not sure about the limiter aspect, the website blurb mentions: Nom. input level: 0dB - +4dB (limiter at +5dB) hopefully that helps?
 4. Am having a bit of bother with my 2 aguilar pedals just now... I got my TLC to have as an 'always on' sound conditioner and is basically set to the minimum compression settings so it should just be squeezing my signal ever so slightly, if I play fingerstyle though it's farty/distorty so am having to just use it for any slapped passages... My Octamizer sounds wicked unless I have my BMC on which gives a slight mid bump not dissimilar to if I bump the mids on my bass' preamp... I can move the BMC to after the Octamizer which will probably fix that problem but the TLC still sounds farty nasty even on the minimum settings, what am I doing wrong? Is there some internal headroom issue with Aguilar pedals? I could move the TLC to be immediately after my tuner (ie second in the chain) removing any dirt from before it but even with the dirtboxes off it sounds the same so I wouldn't imagine that would help? other useful info...I mostly play my Lakland 55-02 and use OBBM cables, when all the effects are off everything sounds lovely and clean through my Genz/Epi setup so there has to be some kind of issue with the pedals/order
 5. this is superb gear and at amazing prices! I loved my sixpack, it was a little weighty though...sounded brilliant!
 6. Mike bought a strap from me, real easy transaction, no problems, no worries! Thanks matey
 7.
You made that all look effortless
This ^^ What is the bass btw? Shocked no-one's asked yet!! What kind of a bass forum is this
 8.
no, the post above says that the bass was reassembled and refinished by Jaco's techs.
...for Jaco, it wasn't clear in my post, sorry edited for clarity now
 9.
I'm not a Metallica fan, I'm a Jaco fan. And I think it's ok that Trujillo played a couple of songs on this bass after paying million dollars for it to buy it off bad people and return it to the Pastorius family.
indeedy, tis fair enough I spose...he used a different jazz bass on their orion gigs so I suspect it's locked away somewhere safe while he uses a common/garden nice fender
 10. ...am not denying that it's current use is somewhat inglorous compared to it's illustrious past... and I'm a metallica fan
 11.
It gets a lot worse. You know what this is? It once looked like this:
When it was reassembled by Jaco's techs they refinished it before returning it to him...(him being...Jaco) http://www.fender.co...lay_article=533
 12.
I'd say compared to a lot of cabs they are relatively flat sounding (in terms of colouration) so whatever you put in from your amp you'll get out - without anything missing. Great if you have a good sounding amp, but some amps are specifically designed to go with the speakers from the same manufacturer (TC springs to mind). Also a lot of cabs seem to have a dip in the mid range, which is great for HiFi speakers as everything sounds very pleasant, but put them in a band scenario and you'll always be turning up to hear yourself. So depending on the amp you have, you might find the Barefaced a bit too honest! The good news is that with an EQ adjustment you should be able to get whatever sound you want, but don't expect it to sound like any other cab on the market. It took me a couple of gigs to get used to hearing myself really clearly wherever I was on stage without blasting out the rest of the band. I run my Genz Shuttle amp completely flat with my Super12 (tweeter rolled off halfway) - the amps a bit clinical but the cab is monster, its a one hand carry/wheel to the car and it fits in my tiny boot too.
...and this ^^^ is why I want an S12T at some point!
 13.
He wouldn't! But paying punters who love Mastodon would
...damn crazy kids...
 14.
He has a really cool Fender Deluxe Precision with a custom shop silverburst finish. I've seen him use that live. Like it a lot

Yeah, I like that too - wouldn't be surprised to see a MIM signature version out within the next couple of years.
Why if he's got a top quality fender which is basically a custom shop one would he play MIM ones just cos they've got his name on them? I'd have to change the neck, hardware and pickups on a MIM one for it feel and sound anything like...?
 15.
I for one fully trust you, Colin, and I'm sure everybody else here does Counting down to the next bash!

+1
Absolutely! The fact that we could view them if desired makes me more trusting somehow too
 16.
on hold .....
Oo! congrats man!
 17. I don't think there is a minimum, you can also buy some quality BC tat from the shop as all proceeds go towards site upkeep n wotnot...
 18. mate your bass goes to 11!
 19. Tony bought a diago power adaptor for EHX pedals from me, very mellow transaction, no problems at all
 20.
To be honest although the idea of a national bass bash is nice I doubt it would happen as:

It would have to have some significant value over another local bash
Be guaranteed to get the attendance needed
A bigger venue would be needed to host the "potential" for more people coming
A national bass guitar show already exists above and beyond this scale

But how cool would it be to get all / almost all the UK members together...unprecedented?
 21.
Says the guy from sheffield
I can't help if I live in the approximate geographic centre of the universe can I
 22. National bass bash sounds like a great idea! Somewhere central between the top and bottom of the country, probably northish midlands, notts/derby/Sheffield so extreme south and north have equal chance of getting there?
 23. The best I've had were a pair of ultimate ears triple.fi 10, seriously nice sounding, very hi-fi, also, superb reduction in background noise when I had 'em in right! They were as good as my ear-plugs! They're about £100 ish and I'd heartily recommend them if you've got the cash to do it
