[s]For sale as I've been to visit Alan in Moffat and have come away having bought one of his basses so I need both cash and to make some space in the house pdq!! This is for my superb modded Geddy Lee fretless...the story is as follows: The original Geddy Lee Jazz bass (2001) was modified by its original owner (McGraham) to have an upgraded Schaller bridge, Dimarzio Model J pickups and a fretted Shuker neck, when I got the bass on a trade I sold the neck to Krysh in Hamburg, the ramp to Fretmeister and sent the body (black - alder) to BassDoc. BassDoc has added a beautiful fretless J neck with Hipshot ultralite tuners which, coupled with the 70's pickup spacing gives a thrilling fretless burp like no other fretless I've ever had, I've gigged it once and it was brilliant! If I could I'd keep this one too... I've since changed the strapbuttons for schaller straplock ones, I'll leave the Schaller strapbuttons on it and will also include the strap attachments. I'll include a neoprene strap too! There is also a replacement standard jazz wiring loom with CTS pots and switchcraft jack socket (received from BassDoc) that can be dropped in to replace the modded electrics (it currently has a master volume, a 4 way rotary selector for pickup choice and the usual tone pot, this setup works surprisingly well actually). The body has a few scars / mojo marks from it's former life (see pics), I've cleaned it up but haven't filled in any of it's paint chips...it comes in a functional but untidy looking warwick rockbag £500 inc uk shipping - rock bottom price for a superb sounding and playing fretless j! It's got a set of Labella 760fl flats on it too and they feel amazing, lots nice than the Lakland Joe Osborn flats I put on my Highway One P![/s]
Something like this?: http://appshopper.co...ome-click-track
that looks exactly like the right sort of thing but it's not for android, it's applestyley
-
This would be very handy with the setlist option as it's something you can't do with a normal metronome app, I reckon my drummist would be up for some o that!

ACG 6 string in Sheffield - I'll soon have one folks can meet
andydye replied to andydye's topic in Bass Guitars
I will soon be an 'ACG folks can meet in Sheffield' type contact http://www.acguitars.co.uk/Available/19/ will be mine very soon (this Friday is the requested delivery date!) -
To finally sort of conclude this thread... I visited Alan at ACGuitars last week whilst on holiday in Galloway (thanks Wife and boys for letting me run off for a day to play some beautiful instruments!) and bought http://www.acguitars.co.uk/Available/19/ so it's a 6 string which I wasn't expecting but it's just beautiful! Consequently virtually every other bass I own is now for sale to claw back some cash but it's superb! I'm then going to save up for a Shuker uberhorn because as Dood alluded, I'm in Sheffield and so is Shuker so it'd be rude not to have one wouldn't it? I'm also on a 'buy British' trip just now, support our domestic builders, there's some amazing quality on these shores so no need to go across the pond folks!!
Fantastic! We'll be the only folks with Ziracote topped ACGs, as far as I'm aware Eude
It's just gorgeous, such understated class to it! I've just dealt with the invoice so it should be shipped Thursday for a Friday delivery

I cured my dingwall gas by trying one, gave me vertigo looking down at the fingerboard, not my cup o tea at all, I salute those of you who can get on with them as I love the concept of the varying scale length!
Thanks a lot guys, much appreciated. I posted this question on TalkBass.com and all I got was one reply saying "Figure it out yourself", obviously if I could figure it out myself I wouldn't ask, lol So it is A, C & E and G, B & D. ?
Ain't no such thing as a stupid question matey so no worries there Yep, those are the notes, have fun
-
I just pcked up my guitar to check, and I'm now pretty sure its A (or more likely Am) and G major.
Am G, that's it, I think I was still half asleep when I looked at it earlier
-
Thats right of course.... must get some specs sorted! The first barre could be major or minor as written The second could be a C minor with G bass, maybe?
Sorry if my post sounded terse, there should have been a couple of smileys in there matey! Fixed now The notes played are the 1, 3, 5 triad for each chord aren't they?
-
they are partial A and G barre chords (in that order)
Are they not more like bits of Am and C barre chords? The actual notes are A, C & E and G, B & D...

SOLD - CertainBass '61 style P-Bass (funk-machine)
andydye replied to andydye's topic in Basses For Sale
Fancy a Markbass R500 which can growl nice and valve-like...?
Hiya, Hadn't considered one of those, pm me with the trade value you'd be looking at for your r500 and we'll see how we get on...I've no cash to put to as have just bought an acg so need to get cash in to pay for it, i also need to make some room, amps are fairly small though arent they ;-) I can't see your location on the mobile version, are you UK based? -
Cheers for that, but I've got a separate head+cabs setup and I just loved the 'turning up with amp in one hand, bass in the other' approach to last night.
the sixpack has wheels and a luggage handle so you could still do that but lifting it is a proper bugger
-
I had a fantastic experience with PJB & Synergy (who were the uk distributors iirc) when I had my sixpack, it was a superb amp but too chuffin heavy for me to lug up and down stairs for my back to stay happy! Rather than get the combo I'd get the M500 head and a cab or two! If you love the sound they're amazing amps, seriously bomb proof construction and outstanding quality!
-
I can vouch for Mr bigjohnson. He's a top man, and the amp really is like new. I'm hoping somebody offers him a bass in a trade deal for the amp, as his Ibanez SGR is pants!
He's welcome to trade for any of my basses on here (p-bass, Lakland 55-02, Fender Geddy/BassDoc fretless) with suitable cash adjustments in either direction depending...
