cool... I get ya! Seem to be using mine on a low gain setting, permanently on at the moment! .... it's just such a usable tone like that.... although it's capable of so much more... See how things develop... Really pleased with it, anyway!
I have it at 18v too via the diago 18v converter thingumy...somehow it's just more niceness...
Did you try the BB in the end?.... Never got to try that one myself.... SFT is certainly doing the job for me though, too!
I had the opportunity to a/b them both and I preferred the character of the sft over the more normal sounding bb...don't get me wrong the bb is superb, it's a really good quality overdrive sound that makes a multidrive sound very one dimensional indeed. Both the SFT and BB retained the original tone really well within the final sound, the thing that swund it was the 'torn speaker' type sound that the SFT gives me on low gain settings, really nice fattening without overwhelming gain

TRADED...I got this bad boy on a trade to see what it can do...tried it tonight with my fretless and headphones and it sounds like lots of fun! It's goot all of the really fun noises that a multifx has but with much better quality and tweakability!...my personal favourite sound on it is the simple envelope filter which its probably the only one I could find a use for in the sort of song I get to play, the rest are really really fun noises but I suspect others would benefit more from the palette on offer and all I need is a decent envelope filter...ah well... In good (if a little dusty) cosmetic condition, with box, no p/s but I do have a 'diago green adaptor' which connects onto any boss style p/s with enough juics to run it and converts it to the right wiring for the power socket... (edit: photo turned round so right way up!) Essentially cost me £100, I'd like £100 shipped (uk only) but will listen to sensible offers and trade options too... For sale... Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky (45, 65, 105, 105) - never used (you'll see why!) Came to put these on last night and discovered when I opened the packet that instead of 45, 65, 86, 105 (as was normal and would have been lovely to put on my bass) there was no 85 and instead there were 2 105's! I can't sell these as a 'set' as they're not really...I'll happily sell them as singles or as a bunch of spare strings for someone... 45 - £5.50 new from strings direct - [s]£4.50[/s] £3.00 inc uk shipping? 65 - £5.75 new from strings direct - [s]£4.50[/s] £3.00 inc uk shipping? 105 - £6.95 new from strings direct - [s]£5.00[/s] £4.00 inc uk shipping? 105 - £6.95 new from strings direct - [s]£5.00[/s] £4.00 inc uk shipping? ...or [s]£15[/s] [s]£12[/s] £10 inc uk shipping for all 4? happy to sell all or some, prices to be discussed for the varying combinations... [s]For sale or trade my CertainBass '61 P-bass funk-machine re-issue type thing as I really need to make some space due to a couple of fretless arrivals and it doesn't get the play time it deserves so... Yes...I know it's assembled from parts he's sourced from wherever he feels will give the best result, but hey aren't Nash basses the same (and they're mega bucks for whatever reason)? and isn't that really the essence of Fender? blah blah...anyhoo... condition: I've been hard pressed to find anything wrong with it (apart from the nut crack I've mentioned further down and price reduced to reflect this little bit of work that needs doing) Spec: Alder body, gorgeous sunburst finish (headstock finished to match too) Seymour Duncan Antiquity 2 P-Bass pickup CTS pots & switchcraft jack Schaller strap-buttons (for schaller straplocks) tort pickguard 60's spec thick slab rosewood fingerboard on maple neck bone nut (checking it over just now while photographing it I noticed that the nut is cracked under the D string and while it does hold in with the string tension it will eventually need 'at least' supergluing or at worst 'replacing') fender style tuners & string tree fender style bridge Hard shell case It's so well knitted together (body and neck) that it really sings acoustically and the pickup really gives a convincing vintage growl! Couple that with some foam and flats and you've got instant motown!! (that's been it's main use of late - I've just taken the flats off it again though) I paid about £800 all told...I'd take [s]£700[/s] [s]£650[/s] [s]£600[/s] [s]£550[s/] £500 collected, it's been very infrequently used as my main bass has been my 5 string and my EUB gets used more often? You're more than welcome to swing by and take a gander at it if you're genuinely interested (am in Sheffield for the mobile users who can't see such things)... Trades? ...amps - I fancy a genz streamliner 900 or mebbe a markbass to try ...cabs - barefaced S12T or midget with black grill and tweeter ...other bits - diago pedal power[/s]
Haha I realise that, I suddenly though of doing my MM instead!
the status neck looks right on a 'ray cos it's the right shape, the reverse headstock would be a new look though, shame they don't do backwards/upside-down ones innit

Not wanting to be overly critical of aesthetics...it's not a picture of a p-bass is it spotted that misself I did
I have it back now! It's superb to play! I've never had a jazz like it!! Will take pics when I get chance as without them 'it never happened'!
Pics-a go-go... Gav has once again gone out on a limb to let me try out some cool pedals! He very kindly sent me his Xotic BB Preamp and his secret weapon the EWS BMC http://ews-us.com/item_bassmid.php Although I wasn't won over by the BB his sneaky inclusion of the BMC has increased my GAS list. Top chap that Gav!
