If you were nearer I'd say to borrow mine for a bit and see how you get on. Only issue for me is that I can't really play them, comfortably, sitting down. Could just be me though! Mine tends to sit in reserve as a backup bass for more important gigs where i feel like I need a backup
I'm a bit too far away to borrow yours, but it's a very kind thought. I never play bass sitting. I practice at home standing 90% of the time, only sitting when I need to write at the same time. The Streamline gets more and more interesting. Frank.
Last time my shoulder was badly screwed up I bought a Status Streamline for precisely this reason - the top of the body extends right out so the stretch isn't as long
Off topic - apologies. I'm enjoying the Steinberger so much that it got me thinking about a Status Streamline as my main gigging bass. They seem to tick a lot of boxes for me. I'm off for three weeks in my campervan tomorrow. I'll be looking into the Streamline when I get home. There seems to be only one or two a year changing hands on basschat. Frank.
Quality looking bit of kit!. I'm not interested myself but thought I would say at 13kg easy postable surely. A box with lots of good packing etc. Might help with the sale.
A fantastic piece of quality kit and if it had weighed less than 20lbs I'd have bought it weeks ago. Frank. -
IIRC, the EBS are rated 250w each..so no more than TKS. However, I'm surprised about the perception they aren't loud enough. I've been running mine outside against loud drums and a 5150 and the bass reaches the back really well. I say this because I've heard recordings and the bass defo wasn't light. I'd be wondering what on earth the gtrs were doing, tbh Having said that, the TKS aren't budget cabs in any respect even if they aren't the most expensive
Surely it would be more meaningful to compare volume displacement, rather than wattage, as an indication of the cabs capabilties? Frank.

Spouses, do they like or hate your instruments?
Think it was a joke judging by the punchline at the end
She never minds what I buy, complains if I sell something she likes, and comes to all my gigs. However, if she read my first post in this thread she'd probably throw all my bass gear out the window and cut up all my clothes. Frank. -
This what makes all the difference to me. It always feels like a 14th fret strap button bass has a neck about an inch longer than a 12th fret. I simply avoid all basses where the strap doesn't fall above the 12th fret. My favourite scale length is actually 33.3" - I can definitely feel the difference in scale when playing up around the first 3 - 5 frets (where the "money" is, lol). 33" is fine too - as far as I know Jens Ritter is the only guy who makes 33.3" and I'm not sure what difference the extra .3" really makes in everyday playing.
My (recently acquired as a travel bass) Steinberger XT-2 has the strap button at the 20th fret!! Try reaching for the money frets on that. I'm making a folding carbon fibre extender to move the strap button to the 12th fret. That should cure it. Frank.
I'm very happy with my current cabs, but they do have some limitations that I suspect the Two10s would not have, for just a little bit bigger size/weight.
One thing worth noting is that a single two10 will move as much air as a pair of TKS 112 so a pair of two10 would sound massive. Go for it. Frank.
You will notice as much difference playing 34" and 35" scale basses as you would black or white basses.
Haha. But yes, I agree with this if it's the same style bass. Frank.
-
Even the 34" Spector and Warwicks will feel two frets farther left than a Fender style bass. It's fine, but if you're regularly changing between them as I was, it becomes more difficult to play without looking at your left hand and I hate having to do that. Frank.

I recently bought an item that I knew the seller had paid less for than I was paying him, but I was happy with the price or I wouldn't have bought the item. I see nothing wrong with this because I had the choice to buy or not. Secondly, what do people think about a situation where you bought an item on basschat several years ago and when you come to sell it's worth a bit more? Isn't it fair to sell at a price you would have to pay to replace the item in the present time? Are we saying you should sell at the price you paid say 6 years ago? And then, if you regret selling a week later and try to buy a replacement, you have to cough up say an additional £100 to buy an identical item. The market sets the price after all. I've never made a profit from selling on basschat, I've simply bought and sold at the fair market price at the time of the transactions. Frank.
I'm looking at pairing 2 x 210's up with a recently purchased TC BH550. So far I've considered the Fender Rumble 210's and the TC K-210's. Portability and weight are of the upmost importance due to a dodgy back. Would love to hear of any more suggestions. Also looking to buy used. Thanks!
I agree that the Markbass 2 x 10 traveller cabs are excellent. I had a pair several years ago and only sold them due to moving to Barefaced cabs. Which brings me to recommend buying two used Barefaced Midgets, the previous models known as G2. They are lighter and smaller than the Markbass 2 x 10s plus louder and more full range, especially if you buy the tweeter model. I sold mine last year for £300 each. Frank.
Any of these out in the wild yet? I'm looking for an amp in similar fashion to my Tecamp Puma 900, i.e loud, clean and clear. If all else fails, i'll go for an EICH. But, I remember the EBS 250 getting good reviews and it's vey well priced.
I haven't heard the Puma 900 so can't comment on the comparison. I've had the Reidmar 750 for a few months. The price was very keen, the obvious money saving is on the rather cheap folded sheetmetal casing. Still, it works well enough but looks cheap compared to machined aluminium casings on some competitors amps. You do pay for that nice look though. The 750 is very clean, super-loud but it's nice to have headroom, great EQ with sweepable mids. The drive knob warms things up nicely. It's subtle though and not too extreme. The features are everything you'd expect or need. Excellent. A mute button would be nice though. Apart from the cheap casing everything seems well made. The knobs feel like decent quality and everything works well. I like it a lot and intend to keep it for a long time. I hope this helps but if you've any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Frank.
GK MB200 is just a killer little amp. I currently have a string of amps sitting at home but the little MB200 goes with me to every gig. It's tiny, sounds great, definitely feels much louder than the 200w it's supposed to have and has enough features to cover a lot of gigs. It's not my main gigging amp but it always comes along for the ride just in case my main amp goes down.
I agree completely. I'm a recent MB200 convert. I originally bought it purely as a backup, but as soon as I tried it, I was amazed at the tone and volume. It's such a useful little amp. Paired with a Barefaced one10 it makes a brilliant rehearsal and small gig rig - tone to die for! It's a very capable amp and if you think 200 watts is puny, you'd be pleasantly surprised by the MB200. Frank.
I'll be trying out my one 10, which has just arrived, with an EBS Reidmar 750 tonight ! Quite excited !
I have an EBS Reidmar 750 as well as a GK MB200 but the EBS is too wide to sit on the one10 and that would annoy me - to the extent that I would prefer to just buy a GK MB500 or MB800 just because there wouldn't be any overhang. I find amp overhang hard to deal with. Frank.

My wife used to really enjoy my bass and 6 string guitar collection. But recently something has changed. She seems to be no longer interested in my guitars or my bands and coming to gigs. She has started going out for nights without me. I've asked her who she's with and she just says "It's just some friends from work". When she comes home late at night she gets out of a taxi around the corner and walks the last 25 metres to our door. The other day her phone rang and I went to hand it to her. She flipped at this and told me never to touch her phone! Sometimes the landline rings and when I answer it, the caller stays silent and hangs up. What's that about? She just seems so distant all the time now. I'm at my wits end now and don't know what to do? There's a lovely Fender custom shop Precision for sale on the forum just now. Should I buy it, even though my wife seems to have lost interest in my bass collection? Frank. -
Received my MB200 today and it's hard to imagine how this teeny thing is going to be loud enough. Alex said last week that my cab would be ready to ship out either yesterday or today so I'm hoping that I am going to receive an email tomorrow saying that it's on its way I have a couple of weeks before our next gig so plenty of time to play about with it first.
I bought my MB200 purely as an emergency back-up. When it arrived I tried it with my Super Midget and was amazed at the volume and low end. I backed off the bass right away. I gigged it with the SM and it coped easily in a small pub. It seems fairly loud with my one10 as well. I hope it works out for you. Frank.

I just bought a bridge off Paul. It was exactly as described, delivery was prompt and I'd recommend Paul to anyone thinking off dealing with him. Frank.

Brilliant! I had a 10 year break from gigging between 1993 to 2003 so I know how you feel and now, I hope to keep gigging until I drop. 40th wedding anniversary next year too. Where did the time go? Frank.
Thanks for the info everyone. I think now I'm down to the MB200 and for only £60 more I could have the Peavey Minimax but it's quite a bit bigger and 3+ times the weight
I think you'll be fine with the MB200 but if you're interested in the Peavey MiniMax then discreet has owned both those amps and a one10 so perhaps a PM his way might shed some light on why he returned the Peavey. Frank.
I think by the looks of it some people here have got an absolute cracking bass at a very good price. Then there are some of us who didn't! It is a shame because this clearly a very popular bass and Fender could have handled it so much better. They still seem to be selling, so maybe they don't care!!
I quite fancied one myself and considered selling my (little used) 2008 USA Precision to fund it. I've dithered over this but finally decided to keep the Precision. Looking at the used value of my P bass and the selling price of the Flea Jazz it doesn't stack up for me. The US bass has a quality case and all the other nice USA features, rolled fingerboard edges, graphite neck rods, excellent hardware and superb fit and finish. The Flea Jazz seems to vary so much in weight, fit and finish, no case, Mexican built, (I wouldn't care about the MIM thing if they were decently made.) that honestly, I'm put off spending the cash to buy blind online. Which is a pity because the Flea has a specification that really appeals to me. The reputation they seem to be getting on basschat makes them far less appealing though. Frank.

I use a GK MB200 with a BF one10. I think the sound is very sweet and I don't think you'd be wanting in volume stakes with this setup. I used to have a Markbass LM II and liked how that sounded too, but that was used with a BF G1 Compact. It was LOUD. However, all things considered, tone, volume, weight etc, the MB200 is an excellent choice. (And happens to be the cheapest of your list of amps. Bonus points for that too.) Frank.
