1. If I was going to get a 5 string this would be the one. Simply stunning!
2. These are lovely basses and are you really sure Mart, Can't you get close to a P with some flats on it and some EQ?
3.
Bassic cables from forumite OBBM. I dont know why anyone would buy anything else. http://www.bassic-bits.co.uk/
Yet another convert here to Dave/OBBM's Bassic Bits cables. Nothing but top quality parts, workmanship and reasonable prices. He is the man and I wouldn't think twice about recommending him to others in need of bass related cables of any sort. He does a BC member discount too I believe?
4. I think this would be a great service to offer. There's BFM designs I've drooled at but don't have the space or tools to make any so there must be others in my boat! A website to peruse your work and the designs offered would be spot on too. Cheers, Jon
5. It can only be: http://www.simscustom.com/
6. READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! http://wiki.basschat.co.uk/info:amps:impedance_and_wattage
7.
What I did do was get a piece of paper and mark the nut width on that . . . then, when I got home, I compaired those markings with the nuts on my Jazz Bass Special's . . . the nut was wider almost 1/4" wider. As I say . . . I was very surprised . . . . . I wonder if Duffs originals were mongrels with precision necks ? . . . . . If they were, then that would make this model dimensionally correct as a Duff Signature bass ? ?
Fair play. You're the man! What shop is this one in? I'm sure there's a BC'er interested in a more P nut width McKagan...
8. Could it be the neck back contour is what is changing the feel? I'm sure others have said similar before about Jazz bass necks various. Without trying to be pedantic, sarcastic or inflamatory- Did you actually measure it with a ruler in the shop or are you basing it just on feel? Cheers, Jon
9. I find that extremely fugly.... Liking the P/J pickups in a jazz though!
10. Here you go: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wirin...c=std_jazz_bass
11. Going back on topic - What price do you think this'll be available for? I'm going to throw my hat in the ring with £3,500 in the shops, Not R.R.P. Let's be having you...
12.
I'm wondering what the difference in price would be, between this bass, and one made from the same parts but without the AC link?
I'm guessing it would be in Masterbuilt territory so around the £4k mark?
13.
Bit of a tart's handbag but better than bl**dy awful upside down Thunderbird-y Warwick monstrosity!
Ha Ha, Indeed!
14. Not for me but what do you reckon?
15. I think a balanced report (good or bad) in the Feedback thread is the way to go and has been talked about before on alot on BC. Go for it.
16.
ordered the pots, waiting for the magic...
Nice one tremblap!
17. That said the additional tones a bridge pickup supplies is debatable over the costs of parts & labour vs what you get for the money. My recommendation is to try a P/J out first if you can...
18. I've used the Seymour Duncan Jazz Hot Stack in the bridge position on one of my P/J's and it was a good complimentary pairing with a vintage P pickup.
19. There's that lovely Alleva at Bass Gear: CLick here I've tried that and it's very nice...
20. That is very cool, Well done. Makes me want to get '...Resurrection' on!!!
21. I've tried both sober & drunk playing and will go for sober every time. Mostly for points mentioned in this thread already.
22. This is not helping my Wal GAS and I would have it off you quick smart if I could afford it! So, Great bass and have a BUMP on me.
23. Another +1 for the Chicago Music Exchange here.
24. If you want to go really dark try this: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Fretting_suppl...=3&xsr=6207
25. Sudbury Town is not that near.... I'd recommend getting the Met or Jubilee Line out of town as the Wembley Park tube station is well geared up for the massive crowds.
