1.
Trigger's broom?
Exactly and why not just list it as an ESP Strat with Original '71 Fender parts? Also, got to love the old 'found in my Father's attic' and 'I know nothing about Fender Strat's' cobblers!
2. Well done Clarky and were you happy with the recorded sounds of your basses? Regards, Jon
3. I tried that bass when it was for sale in Coda Music at £2,000... Just sayin'
4. A word of warning - Jon's build times can be a bit optimistic
5. The worst example from me was having a few beers in town then trying out a Les Paul bass and bravely saying ''I'll take it" and credit carding all £1,300 of it there and then!
6. Here's a link to a simple, good & practical way to set up your bass from one of the Masters. http://www.chicagobassdoctor.com/setup.html It helped me sort out my Lakland P bass a treat! Regards, Jon
7. That looks lovely Mr. C, Well done. Would love to see it in the flesh! Cheers, Jon
8. You need to get a cable made that's 2 into 1. That'll work and OBBM does them
9.
I briefly owned the non-relic'd version of this bass in sunburst (as part of a trade) and sold it to Finnish BC'er Joona (bassotaitellija). I had serious second thoughts about selling it on (and in fact removed it from sale at one point) as it was just the nicest playing and best put-together Jazz I had ever had my hands on. Quality bass bump from me!
Blimey Clarky, 1 you haven't owned! Have a bump for a very nice bass what I wish I could afford. Regards, Jon
10. I use 2 x Barefaced Compacts with a MarkBass SA450 amp. It's tall, light and a really powerful setup... Highly recommended. Regards, Jon
11.
On the brink of purchasing a cab to go with my LitttleMark 2. I need lows in just one cab. For dub, reggae, hip hop, subby stuff. The Hartke website says the low frequency response goes down to 20hz.... At - what db? Is it really putting out lows comparable with an Acme Low B? Has anybody tested this? cheers
Hi thedeft1, I'm another who would suggest you speak to Alex at Barefaced Bass - http://barefacedbass.com/ What you want to do is right up his street musically so I'm sure he can point you in the right direction even if you don't want one of his cabs. Good luck on your mission! Jon
12. Good to see some names I recognise from here on there!
13. I'm bass GAS free but got a slight bit of amp GAS but it's nothing urgent
14. Now that is one cool looking rig. Any chance of a recording/video of it up and running for us to hear please? Regards, Jon
15. I think the rule of thumb is: Total (item cost + shipping) plus 25%. This will be roughly the extra cost to you. Also try [email protected] for a quote. He done me a good deal, that no one else could get near, on some Hipshot tuners not so long ago. Regards, Jon
16.
If you take the scratch plate off screw it to a piece of wood so that it can't shrink or twist any more than it has already.
^ This if you're going to go for the change. It's a beauty Clarky and well done once again! Regards, Jon
17. Metallica's S&M album, Disc 2 - Outlaw Torn...
18.
Unless you are on Ebay...
Well yeah, then you're under their T&C's!
19. Sold but not here on Bass Chat unfortunately. For reference it went for £150. Check out the picture below. This unit is no longer made but you can still download the handbook for it from Marshall's website for all the info: CLICK HERE Please note the Power Brakes are for valve amps up to 100W only. Regards, Jon.
20.

Distance selling rules apply here just the same as they would if they bought the item from Dolphin or whatever.
Surely that's not true?
As an individual private seller (i.e. not a shop/business) Distance Selling Regulations do not apply. You only have to supply an accurate description of what is being sold (i.e. Fender USA Precision Bass) It doesn't have to involve details of age/condition... It all comes down to 'Caveat Emptor/Buyer Beware'.
21.
Er...pics of bass please!
+1
22. Hi Mike, I can't make it but would love to have gone. It's complete madness isn't it?! You working there or just visiting? Regards, Jon
23.
Just bought a Sennheiser EW300 G3 GB system last week and it is absolutely fantastic! The GB version takes the 2012 switch off into account and I don't actually think a lot of places have stock of them yet. Cracking bit of kit tho! Now - to get some phones moulded!
Good man! It is really good equipment and it's nice to see someone going for it.
24. Here you go: First Bass Owned: Encore P bass, 'Go To' Bass: Fender USA P bass, 'Your' Bass: Fender USA CS P/J bass. Cheers! Jon
