1. last forever? surely even the might kingbass neck will crumble to dust eventually - i already have two squier J's so another three different models would be fine i guess and cheaper in the long run
 2. two Works shops in chatham - i found me a copy yesterday
To be honest, I flicked through it in one of their shops a few months ago and decided it wasn't worth a fiver!
but consider the cost of a monthly issue of BGM or any other glossy monthlies and i dont think its a bad buy if you have a fiver to spare - certainly some useful bathtime reading in there about all the early history if you werent already familiar
 3. Farriers Beer Festival 2013 last weekend can you guess which one is me?
 4. with weddings it would be expected that there will be all ages groups there so would be good to throw in a decent selction of stuff from 60s 70s 80s (skip the 90s that was mostly pants) and maybe even a big one from the 50s 60s and 80s in particular there are oodles of good tunes and you should be spoilt for choice depending on how well you know th e wedding party would dictate what tunes to suggest - if only acqauintances then a safe selection would be appropriate - if you all know them really well and they have a good sense of humour then you could be a bit more adventurous with the selection
 5.
Just out of interest, is there anything stopping someone just pretending to be a veggie to get the job?
and then when the producer finally declares 'it's a wrap' , you pull out the secret bacon sandwich but as you say joking aside, when you audition how would you know whether anyone is veggie or not?
 6. welcome to my world of gigging !!
 7.
Me neither, hence this thread I've always gone out and made music the old fashioned way I don't have a soundcloud account and I've only been on there to listen to mate's tunes and BC's monthly composition competition so I'll certainly be checking this new info out cheers. Just out of interest, do any of you new fangled types know if there are any alternatives or is SoundCloud so good at this kind of thing that it has the monopoly? Thanks for the help peeps.
not sure but depending on your views on the matter i did hear something about google wanting/planning to take over soundcloud

 9.
I joked like that sometimes, but it's probably more true than I thought.
yup our gig on saturday at t'beer festival was littered with more bum notes than i could possibly recall on the fingers and toes of two hands and two feet (it was such a nice big clean stage and a hot day so i was barefootin it!) only person to probably notice was any other bass players in the crowd (at least one BC member that i know of) - didnt stop the crowd displaying their approval by getting up and shaking their booty - and when the sound and lighting guys express that they liked the set than that carries a bit of weight for me because they get to see band after band after band and the fact they made some positive and enthusiastic comments was great in spite of my lousy bum notes
 10. any pics and length please?

 12. this sounds like fun - count me in too http://help.soundclo...d-collaboration http://soundcloud.com/apps

 14.
Yes - and generally the levels of evangelism increase in direct proportion to the price paid!
yes but that also works inversely too with the amount of overall chuffdness achieved through the low price of the Squier
 15. four posts already and nobody has said 'och aye the noob' yet?
 16. nothing but bum notes from me!! good job it was a beer festival so nobody hardly cared one single jot but always nice to see quite a few peeps up and shaking their groove thang about FOH guys even commented on how good the overall sound was (one of them a bass player too) - FOH excellent desk and sound (ASTRA i think it was to give them a plug)
 17.
There's a big niche market for a band like this . They have hit on the novel idea of making music for people who are both stupid and deaf , and probably quite unpleasant too . There are plenty of such folks out there .
I saw that crowd once ... Oasis iirc
 18. White wine and fruit based soft drinks also available
 19. i have a passive affinity J - the output from the pups is hotter than my active status matrix
