LH500 + HyDrive 410 or even a 2500 or 3500 head is good too Hartke are sadly much underrated by those who are 'brand conscious' i feel, and I would challenge anyone to find better value for money from a good sounding rig great tone + reliability i gave up playing for about 15 years and when i resumed my first thoughts were to replace the old trace rig i used to have in early 90s ... until i saw the price tag ... so i took a gamble on the hartke rig and never regretted it - if anything i think it sounds better than my old 90s trace rig (even when they were half decent and not covered in carpet)

For all you basschatters in north Kent please do feel free to come along

just make sure you dont end up doing downtuned duelling banjos

yes i am crazy and basses often stay in tune an old status i used to have never went even slightly out of tune it was awesome - the beat up old matrix i have now has slightly slack tuners and actually goes more out of tune than my squier affinity - TRB has gotohs too iirc and that is also very stable

[/quote] i would be inclined to agree with this sentiment - personally am against shimming too as a setup fix as imho it is affecting the neck/pocket contact area - ive even resorted to routing out a millimetre of body surface to drop the thicker gotoh 201 bridge down to get full adjustment rather than shimming i tried it and imho it sounded pants and neck stability was definitely an issue so although i havent played one i would expect a single cutaway to add to stability and tone transmission throughout the whole instrument hopefully somebody will have one of these ugly little critters at the SE bass bash and i can have a proper look-see
