6.
Nice to see him playing live. Lovely homage to his late brother - he always had a great sense of melody. He'll hate me for saying it but the live version of 'Adventures' contains some of the most sublime guitar playing ever.
the 'live in the air age' version ? agreed the guitar work on Return to Jazz of Lights is amazing too especially Fearless Beauty
 7. gaaawwwww jus i was in a band back in 90s and our guitarer had one of these it was bloody fantastic - this thing will sing as good as any LP
 8. I pestered our lot for us to be called Filthy & Gorgeous turns out we're called something else now so feel free to use it

 10.
Hempathy
did the name not give away a subtle clue perhaps that he might have blown all your dosh on gear and then just mellowed and completely forgot your pedal
 11. jimmy johnson having a bad hair day?

 13.
count them cuts, one, two, three. not sure what it's good for playing sorry, but I bet orangatangs can get the most from them
thats great ... just needs a few more sharp pointy bits and a respray or wait ... maybe a quadruple cut? now that would be good
 14. is there such a thing as a treble cut? there must be one somewhere and undoubtedly a whole degree of magnitude better than a double cut ... i bet it's good for metal
 15.
Yeah I think that might be the answer, It was fine when I tested it in the shop then a couple of days later the buzz came back... Maybe I have bigger problems with this bass
how long did they keep it when they did the setup? if the shop did a largish adjustment all in one go then it will take up the intial adjustment immediately but will still be stretching and settling over the next couple of days a friend of mine who is very good with setups usually asks to keep the bass/guitar for 4 or 5 days and will tweak it a bit each day rather than do one large adjustment in a single day - when i do my own setups i tend to do the same, small adjustments and leave it a day - if it needs more the next day i'll give it another half turn and let it settle, and repeat over a few days until it ends up where you want it
 16. well my sq fretless vmj i snow fully re-commissioned after i butchered it about a bit and will be making its appearance at our next gig the seymour designed pups seem fine now i strung it with a nice new set of swingbass steels guess it was the black nylons they didnt like
 17.
We know Grangur, we know. I think people are winding you up a bit - there's no shortage of affection and respect for "the other Elvis" on Basschat.
Not the Chinese Elvish who used to have the restaurant the Old Kent Road ? ;-)
 18.
Just watched 'Totally British: 70s Rock' part one 1970-1974. Lots of old BBC sessions of SAHB, Heavy Metal Kids, Humble Pie, Family, Status Quo, Faces, Babe Ruth, Nazareth etc and there's hardly a worn guitar or bass in sight. Nearly every one looked as if it had just come out of a shop window. I can imagine the Beeb's dressing room floors were full of discarded Fender, Gibson and Ricky tags and hangers. I wonder what any of today's relicers thought as they sat in front of the telly watching this with their orbital sander by the side of their armchair?
none at last weeks south east bass bash either
 19. ah yes the imposter elvis who is this new pretender 'costello' of whom you speak?
 20. oh dear
 21. surprisingly its not that difficult to fret at first despite the excess height - i will take it down to about plastic card thickness and see how feels then - got a slight bit of relief in the neck at moment just enough im just in process of setting it all back up after hacking a millimetre or so out of the body to recess the baseplate of the bridge as i got one of those big thick gotoh 201 jobbies tried it with black nylons before and it sounded pants so ive just put a set of swingbass on and it is singing like a birdie even with a very basic set up and growling nicely when i want it to
 22. Is there such a thing as an ideal string clearance at first fret position on a fretless? ive just replaced a nut and setting it all up again and noticed it feels quite high at first - as a guage i can just get a 20p piece under the E at first fret thanks
 23. no slapping?
 24.
Hello and welcome, hope you enjoy being a Basschat member (and that you'll soon be offering free, all inclusive holidays to your homeland!!! )
yes preferrably south, little village near Uzes would be nice
