2.
so there needs to something else good about it.
willl play bass for food! lol
3.
Guys, how does a pub afford to pay a band?
band brings along their own rentamob we tend to get offered quite a few gigs as our band members are known and the venues know our ability to bring a fair few punters along to put beer tokens across the bar a couple of months back we played a well known music pub in ashford on a saturday night - our set is not exactly their usual type of rock band - but we took a good crowd along with us - everybody appeared to be enjoying themselves (and importanltly for the venue ... drinking and spending their beer tokens!) afterwards the girls behiind the bar did comment that it was the best saturday night takings for several months
4.
I really like Herdim triangular picks...nothing else feels as comfortable. Not a Herco I realise, but I never expected to have a strong preference in picks either.
+1 for these - i remember these from 70s in my misspent guitar playing youth days - use Dunlop blacks now if i have to use a pick
5. the binky bunny bass

7. id hate it if my ferret went around impersonating a poodle
8.
^^^ Ooh...that's made me think of one. I hate cheap looking headstock logos. I am sure there are some mighty fine basses out there that I wouldn't buy because of an ugly logo.
but what about the ones that actually are cheap but sound just as good as their expensive counterparts?
9. i rather partial to chocolate flavoured dairy desserts

14.
Not a bass, but I have this (Xaviere XV600; on their site they say ..."plays like butter..." ) ...
slimey and greasy?
15. i had a bright yellow triumph GT6 - straight 6 great low end roar - will that do?
16. bright yellow not a good move if you do outdoor gigs you will become a fly and insect magnet!!
17. depends if you include decorative coffee table top figured maple ? ed- check my avatar pic and think tabby strawberry blonde ginger tom
18. i havent got the 500/1000 (yet!) but from what have read everywhere on the boards here the hartke preamps are designed and specced to remain clean i have the 2500 head and it will not dirty even with the preamp up at 10 in fact i regularly run it flat out with pre and master at 10 and it stays clean all the time (the only way to get it to dirty is to turn both the A and B preamps up together but hartke do advise against this in the handbook iirc)
19. not a huge ray fan but cant help thinking that that particular ray might not be a good ambassasdor for the whole species
20. this ... it's lush http://youtu.be/Sug4hC3Ysb0 http://youtu.be/lmo1tWMVHQI
21.
I know you had problems, Steve but out front the sound was good. I did think at one point we had under-specced the P.A... as they were going to bring down twice that rig..so 16kw, but only for the seperation. Your sound was much better than the night before so maybe you just had better sounds to work with... or you paid the crew in beer. I am getting good feedback about the festival so your struggles were worth it.
thanks John - it was heat/humidity combined with me doing a lousy job of the intonation which i fixed the next day i thought the PA sounded fine although all i could hear on stage was my rig because of the extra cab haha but to be fair it did sound like the oasis boys had asked the sound guys to crank the volume as the hike in volume from us to them was really noticeable and for those BCers who have not seen JTUKs band live they do an absolutlely awesome cover of 5:15
22. If its still floating around down south next few weeks i have gig 6th Sept could use it at
23. depends if it is in a fancy shaped mold is it like this? from what i understand the number of nodules around the top can have significant impact on the harmonic overtones whereas a plain round mold will probably give you a bit more of a P sound

Which Flanger?

as so many above are recommending the boss bf2 i am inclined to agree - i have the bf3 and while it is ok and does the job of flanging ok it is definitely a bit OTT for quick changing on the fly
