1.
if your ever selling that, give me a pm
Hmmm you missed the boat on that one.... Its now owned by Voxpop.....
2.
I know this is unrelated to the bass you're trying to sell but, what's that black thingy on the left?
Errrrr its this..... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=highway
3. contact the nice lady at this place..... http://www.dizzydaisies.co.uk/ Keep it sensible and she'll do you proud....!
4. Amber may not be your color but this truly is a thing of beauty. Quilted maple top with orange wash, spalted maple neck and rosewood board. Gold hardware and Active electrics with lace sensor pups. The Lace sensors are sensitive to noisey appliances but get them in a well earthed building and they are HUGE.... This is as mint as you will find a 17 yr old C/S bass, no marks scratches or blemishes of any sort. No. 62 of 400 so its ltd edition as well. Truly a collectors piece if thats what floats your boat, OR one hell of a kick ass P if you want a top end exclusive P. Its the right one of the 3 below.. I will furnish more pics for anyone genuinely interested. Comes with lots of candy.... I'm not tight! Trade or P/ex for NS EUB or similar (preferably CR4) . OR maybe similar quality/value fretless 4 string.
5. Why not Pimp the RBX? I did it with mine and it was awesome for what it cost to do..... SD pups, any 1/2 decent tuners and bridge. Re wire with new (decent) pots and wire it vol/vol/tone.... It'll kick your ass..... and for a fraction of your 500 sobs which you can put towards a decent amp. My opinion FWIW.... Then by the time you 'outgrow' that combo, you'll know EXACTLY what you want..... I did....
6.
Sorry Steve, we're now not allowed to compare different kinds of basses as per The Burpster's directive found in this post: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=242180 See point #3: Squier are a different brand than Fender, so what? dont compare them! Whodathunk it, eh?
Oh dear, how drole...... It was in referance to that particular thread where it had got a little out of hand .......
7. That dealer seems to get mostly good feedback fromm here. (there are 2 HUGE jap fans on here who will be along shortly no doubt) There are variances on ALL Fenders from whichever county of orgin, but you can alomst gaurantee that a Jap F will be good to v.good. An American one could be amazing to pants and any variation in between. Mex generally have some cheaper quality componenets than American but some parts are the same and hence the result is as varied as the US ones.
8. Errrm folks..... I have been rather busy at work and missed a lot of this..... I believe from reading this thread independantly.... that, 1.Some of you are being a little too assertive with your opinions.... 2.One or more of you have made posts that, I believe if you read again (and detach your own emotions from) you will see are not that well thought out and were actually going to provoke an aggressive reply. 3. Squier are a different brand than Fender, so what? dont compare them! 4. The OP was passing coment that a cheaper bass could be set up and made to sound as good or better than asn expensive one. Nothing new or startling in there. 5. Despite being contacted to the contrary, I have not seen anything in this thread that is massively denegrating or insulting, just some rash and ill thought out provocational posts. 6. Enough is enough, and I am closing this thread before it DOES get to the point when very silly comments are made that beyond the bounds of decency and the rules of this forum Bob.
9. Off to techie.....
10. This is very similar to the Kinsman that I use and the warwick verson that Ped uses. I rate them as the best solution for protection and lugging ability.
11. is it me or is it just ...... Odd.....
12.
Unless I am very much mistaken the Hopf Saturn 67 was an early and ultimately unsuccessful solid fuel unmanned rocket. Launched in March 1967 from Fenton in Iowa, US. the catchily named "Hopf" failed to break free from the earths gravitational pull when it only managed to reach a height of 37 feet
Excellent! OTPJ... They look pretty rare (now) to me so a good one could be worth a bit to the right folk.....
13.
Bloody Hell Kev, when I was your age I had an Ibanez Blazer, you're very lucky to have such a great bass.
I'll bet you wish you still had it after you saw what I did to mine..........
14. Ovation Celebrity ('ard as nails!) and Micro Cube.
15. Just dont bid on it.... Unless you want/need a case.
16.
Can you tell me what the micro switch is for?
Jase dont get hung up on the switch idea, the UK ones dont come with a switch, buts its idea was to switch the polarity of the two halves of the pup. Apparently it didnt make much of a difference! Adj pole pieces are way cool tho', as you can adjust the string balance....
17.
Are they the Schaller JBX type? Just had a quick look, I like the adjustable pole option, like Dimarzio.
Schallers are very good.....! If you dont believe me ask, Kennyrodg who has teh Ibanez I pimped with them.....

If you are sensible you dont loose lots of money. (I've only lost on one that I've sold) Although you could include being ripped off to the tune of £800 in there! Buy with your head engaged as well as your heart is my advice!
19. Similar to you. I leave the big tonal changes to the basses. Amp and (minimal) effects stay pretty close to the same settings most of the time. Changes in tonal timbre are provided by different voiced intrsuments.
20. +1 nice fella, dead straight! Likes like another DOD pedal owner...
21. While you're at the Gallery check out the Clovers they are sweet!
22. Acrylic over nitro= OK Nitro over acrlyic = bad. Nitro lacquer or pure lacquer will be fine over your nitro base coat as would acrylic... HOWEVER the nitro over the acrylic prep stage may not work. I'd test it on a test peice first IIWY.
23.
I threw a box full of 12AX7s away about 15 years ago - and they were new. Could have made loads of money on eBay
