1. Stir it Up - Bob Marley and the Waiters A little Bit of Love - Free Google on Reggae Woman - Stevie Wonder Lol, I've left the autocorrect versions intact as they are funny
2.
I too don't get this 'famous player' increasing the value of an instrument thing. If a guitar/bass is good, it is good. Does it really matter who played it before you got your hands on it? If funding were not a problem, I would get a top notch guitar and a similar bass. The guitar could be a '59 Les Paul or an R9 built recently. The only requirements being it is a good guitar, nice player and not too heavy. And absolutely not neck heavy!!!! If it were the '59 LP, it is a fact that several owners/players had it since then. A good instrument is a good instrument.
I've just spent twenty minutes writing a reply to this, but decided it was getting too in-depth. In a nutshell, you have a very logical approach, but for most people, preferences and purchasing decisions in life are heavily based on emotional factors.
3. Thanks Higgie. Will give that a try
4. No, that's why they are designed with adjustable truss rods and bridge saddles.
5. I just bought a pedal from Ray. Communication was good and it was exactly as described. I'd happily deal with him again.
6. How do you listen to the patches please? I've managed to import some patches into the editor, but then assumed I could listen to them via the virtual keyboard at the bottom, but nothing
7.
...Mustang Barry
Siingalong now "Ride Barry, Ride"

9. I put the Lo Riders on the bass last week and had my first outing last night. My first impressions? Wow! These are BASSY, and LOUD. after two songs I realised that during the string change I had accidentally cranked my bass knob all the way up 🤣 So they are great - punchy, deep and clear. I love the tight feel too, and didn't even need to make any truss rod/saddle adjustments. We have a winner!
10. I sold a Hot Hand 3 to Ed in an easy transaction; fast payment and good communication. Cheers Ed!
11.
Moog MP201 night and f*cking day! Mine is the core of my rig. MIDI to my SR16 and CV outs to LPF (1). Ring Mod (2). And Minituar (1) USB out to Ableton It's such a comfortable treadle and the features are extensive to say the least. Triangle waves, square waves , saw tooth, sample and hold, gates, noise, ramp etc etc I paid £350 for mine from a basschatter and it's the best money I've ever spent. If mine got lost, stolen or broken I would hunt one down no matter how much it cost or how far away it was .
Yeah, but do you like it?

13. Andy bought an interface from me. Communications were good and payment was prompt. Nice chap. I'd happily deal with him again.
14. Sounds great; clear but not obnoxious in the mix. I'd say more emphasis on the upper mids compares to a P's lower mids. Nice playing too
15.
I think the lat time I didn't have my bass in the PA was when we played in Mr Venom's front room:
Was that in Carrington? I think a couple of my mates were at that gig. I didn't hear any complaints about poor dispersion
16. I can only think of one occasion in the last several years of gigging where bass wasn't through a PA (OP that was at JT Soar, and you know how tiny that is) My priorities in a cab: 1: High quality sound* 2: Can safely handle my deeep subby pedals 3: Less than 13" deep so it can fit where it needs to under the stairs. 4: Light/Portable 5: Looks good 5: Dispersion/other *sans PA at rehearsals
17. Second track is through. This one is popular at gigs - pretty upbeat after the first part: https://soundcloud.com/christopher-brown-48/glitter-4416-master
18. Thanks. Bass direct have them at £40 so I've gone for a set of Lo Riders from them
19. If it helps, GT85 is a good contact cleaner (as well as loads of other uses) Big can with straw currently £2 at wiggle.co.uk http://www.wiggle.co.uk/gt85/?dest=1&curr=GBP&utm_source=google&utm_term=Brand&utm_campaign=UK_Brand_Manufacturers_E&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=mkwid|smo2kAjSZ_dm|pcrid|152237065428|pkw|wiggle%20gt85|pmt|e|prd| "Not only is GT85 a powerful penetrating spray, but it also acts as a corrosion protective spray, dry film lubricant for precision parts, contact cleaner and lubricant (it is excellent for potentiometers, helping to eliminate electrical noise), water displacer, dielectric spray, high-temperature light lubricant, and a lubricant for assembly and packing"
20. New string time. In the past I've quite liked the Status Hot wires and D'Addario Chromes but think I'd like a tighter feel. A clear deep fundamental + defined top end preferred over anything mid-heavy. DR Low Riders look like they could be good (at £50 they'd need to be!) Any other recommendations?
21. While you lot are chatting, tapping, eating, slapping and rocking, I'll be co-hosting my lad's 6th birthday party. I think it'll be just as loud where I am, but with worse music. I'll think of you as I'm doing pass the parcel Have fun all.
22. Sorry of already mentioned - Kenny Kravitz Primarily a guitarist but plays much bass. I believe the first album is all Lenny on bass and there is some really lovely playing on there. Check out the middle break in "does anybody out there even care" - fantastic bass playing
23. This thread has got me thinking about new strings. Just checked and my chromes have been on for nearly two years!
