1. I'm not so midi savvy that I can create my own patches in the editor, however I have scoured the large pool of user-created patches over on TalkBass and added the ones I like to my unit via the desktop editor.
2. I introduced one to my pedal board a year or so ago, and now it's my only pedal! It has displaced individual fuzz, low pass filter, OC2 and tuner among others. It may not be the most intuitive to change settings on the hoof, but with some pre planning, it's fine. No problems live for me, but i haven't recorded with it yet.
3. I love the Tune Yards, some really inventive pop; quirky and sometimes verging on the psychedelic. This song is more old school, and well worth a watch all the way through. Superb voice, music with space, and a definite early Zepplin vibe imo http://youtu.be/UNkP-mbBMLo
4. I'm guessing this is the list? https://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/music/the-20-greatest-british-rock-bands-of-all-time-a3655391.html On The Cure: "From the the stark and intense nature of albums like 1982’s Pornography, through to the more flamboyant and playful records like Wish, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me and Disintegration" Surely this has been written by someone who has never listened to the dark and not-at-all-flamboyant-or-playful Disentegration album.
5. More surprising than the asking price is the assertion that 1982 was pre the funk/slap era!
6.
What's that then Chris? Looks gawgeous!!
Hey Phil It's the Ritter R8 Gorgeous design, but €€€€€€€€€€€€€!

8. Thanks for the replies folks, I've passed the info on. Hope it gets someone here a gig, and I look forward to seeing you play (assuming I'm invited 😂)
9. Haha I thought this thread was about potatoes too. ..and they all look good in their place, except 4+1
10. A recently engaged friend has asked me to recommend a band for their wedding. He says that the ones they have checked out online are quite cheesy, citing Bruno Mars as the apparent benchmark for cheese. The couple are more into the indie band thing (he's also partial to a bit of reggae/ska), but still want the place to feel like a party. Nottingham area DJ already booked Not sure whether PA is provided, but I'm assuming not Any guidance/suggestions please?
11.
I have to admit, I'm a little bit disappointed that they aren't a local band...
Hah, I'd definitely go and see them
12.
I'm pretty certain I've seen this (or something very similar before) so I'm guessing this is off social media and not an advert you spotted in Nottingham?
That's correct

14. What you should do is sing "Plug In Baby" softly to it each night before bed.
15. Let this be a grave lesson to those who don't support their plugins.
16. If your plugin is upset, be there for it; be a shoulder to cry on, and be a good listener. It'll come round in its own time.
17.
I can slip a banana between my pick ups and strings, do you think my action is to high ?
...or your pickups too low or your bananas too small

19. I must have bought a duff one; the Bassic Black combo. Wooly and uninspiring. Strangely, it was bought new from The Bass Centre, but once opened up for repair a while later, it was discovered to have a cheap EV driver, despite SWR claiming that they have never use EV drivers in their cabs. A mystery
20. Is love to see their faces if a duo like Lightning Bolt turned up http://youtu.be/1Z5BJ_s9EtM
21.
I'm sure that one day the Elf will be considered oversized....progress means things will get smaller over time.
Soon we'll just have a preamp app which wirelessly connects to your powered cab...
22. New album by St Vincent, Masseduction. Really, really good. Imagine Goldfrapp produced by Trent Reznor. Sexy, dark, tender and inventive.
23. I've seen them a couple of times, and each time Rocco was quite low in the mix, or maybe I should say soft in the mix? Still the overall groove seemed to be perfect
24. From Glen Vine on Facebook: "BE BOP DELUXE ...I’m searching for a talented bass player with strong harmony backing vocals. This is an appeal to genuine fans of Be Bop Deluxe who know and love the music. If this is you, its not necessary to describe how varied, unique the music is and how challenging it is to play. The goal is to recreate the fabulous and unique live sound from the early Axe Victim days through to Modern Music and beyond. If this sounds exciting – please don’t let distance from our the location (South Yorkshire) deter you from getting in touch. Thanks." https://m.facebook.com/groups/628992467283349?view=permalink&id=839590152890245 Anyone up for the challenge?
