  1. I've got a virtual gig on Saturday. About 150 performers / students. All via Zoom. The lag is going to be shite.
  2. Ibanez ATK does the Ray thing very well.
  3. This is useful. I’m thinking about a new cab, and looking at specs. And whether I want a HF driver in it or not.
  4. Not quite the same as a wet mic grill with potentially a high viral load from being sung into. Nobody sings into a shirt when trying it on.
  5. It's an average for some types of surfaces. Some of the cruise ships still had live virus on surfaces 2 weeks after they had been evacuated. I wouldn't rely on that.
  6. If that is the case then why does a variable tweeter still have an audible effect when turned off? Does that mean the tweeter's range starts below 5 or 6Khz and turning it off is only removing that bit?
  7. I'm not sure Zon makes necks for the parts market.
  8. If I'm listening to a particular bass sound and I don't have a 'scope how can I tell the frequency range of the tone. For example - Marcus Miller's tone has a lot of crisp high end, and his signature cabs have a range up to 20Khz But - Steve Harris also has quite a lot of high end, in a very different tone, using old style 12 inch cones that I can't imagine get anywhere near 20Khz. So what range is actually needed? At what frequency is the highest crisp-ist most percussive part of Miller's tone? At what point would that disappear in a cab that doesn't go as high?
  9. And Yamaha got away with it because they told the CMA about the deal with GAK.
  10. I get the ship thing as it's been around for so long. IIRC the russian navy calls it's ships He. But the rest - it's a cringy as giving an inanimate object a name. My views on that match those of The Hound in Game of Thrones. WARNING - very rude words ahead.
  11. Only scum say this.
  12. I played a Zon Hyperbass in a big band for a while. Not with piccolo strings though. I’m not a philistine!
  13. At a show at the Derngate Theatre!
  14. If the bass drum is mic’d up you don’t need a bass guitar.
  15. The old ones are a lot heavier if that is important to you.
  16. Usually different cabs as well though. Switching amp heads on 1 cab is very dodgy if they are valve amps. There are a few expensive and complex bits of lit that can do it, but not many. Needs to keep the amp seeing a load all the time but not have any audio gap either.
  17. This is my dilemma. I sometimes need to slap a bit. Noting too Wooten like - more "Uptown Funk" type. The One10 pair I have is great for many things, but lacks a bit of top end sparkle for that. While I like the Super Compact tone a lot, the top end of the freq range is lower than the One10. How different is the Super Midget? I'm not usually a fan of tweeters either, but at the moment I find myself needing a bit of a Marcus top end.
  18. What did you like more about the Super Twin? Did you find it too dark at all with the lower top end freq response?
  19. @Skybone Like that! It has now become my lounge amp.
  20. Friends tell me the Mosky, err, tribute to the famed Klon Centaur is pretty much indistinguishable from the real thing despite only costing about 2% of a real Klon. It's seems they make good and affordable stuff.
  21. I think they are all very different from the others. I don't think the SC is "more" different though.
  22. Now with Flats on a Precision
  23. @sykilz It's lovely. Very impressed with it. There's a thread on it:
