  1. Barefaced One10 and a class D head of your choice.
  2. Hermes have just announced they are hiring another 10,000 people to help cope with the increased demand. That's a lot more ruined parcels then!
  3. I just checked - you are quite right. It's not. I have that wrong.
  4. That was exactly my point.
  5. At it's silliest my rig blended 3 driven tones with 1 clean tone. I used Line 6 Pod XT, Line 6 Bass Pod XT and an Ampeg SVP-BSP. The Ampeg did clean and Billy's type of drive. The two different PODs did other drive sounds. Generally speaking I used a more guitar-like saturated tone in the treble, and as I moved through mids and bass the type of drive changed to something more guttural. It sounded fantastic but the rack (with a 5000W power amp) was really heavy. I can do it all in my Helix now... but I'm not playing rock at the moment so the patch is just for home fun.
  6. No argument with that. There are practical issues not considered as well. With only the diameter changing and nothing else a 15 will move more than a 10. But how often is a single 10 used? A pair of 10s have far greater surface area than a single 15. (EDIT - did my maths wrong. It's not) I've had HD112 and CN112 (bergs) next to each other. Both 12 inch cones and massively different sound. The cone size was irrelevant.
  7. If there's a fair amount of them at 8.5lb that means it is likely somewhere there will be an 8lb one. 8 lb is my absolute max these days - and my main basses are all way under that. But if I can find an 8lb one then I think my wallet will be in trouble. Knowing my luck it will be bright yellow.
  8. I am aware. But the post didn't even mention cone excursion. Cone size alone really does mean nothing without considering excursion as well. Using 1 manufacturers figures alone mean nothing too. If all of eminence's cones have the same excursion and the only thing that changes is diameter then of course more air will be moved with a larger cone. But if a 10 has lots more excursion than the 15, then the 10 can move more.
  9. Mine's the regular Nano (old one) and it just won't fit. Most annoying!
  10. Can anyone else hear Alex's teeth itching?
  11. I've got an early LT XL when they still came with a DC supply. However - when mounting it on the bottom of a small board - like a Pedal Train Nano - the charging point is in the wrong place. Can't get to it without removing the supply. Not enough room between the metal parts of the board. Stupid design! The charging input should have been at one of the ends.
  12. There's one in the classifieds and because of that I very carefully measured up my boot space... Alas, not enough room.
  13. Ooo. Plenty of B's like that. Not sure I've heard of a tapered A apart from the Newtone. Do Kalium do them? They seem to have far too much choice!
  14. No idea - I just like the idea of built in tilt back ones. Don't have to bend over with a taller cab too.
  15. I did think a lot about that - but in the end I decided that if (a big if) I ever gig on guitar again then I'm not sure I'd want to gig anything other than my JCM800. And due to medical issues - I want wheels. I can cope with the in and out of the car bit, but more than that - with the amount of surgery I've had over the last few years - wheels are important. Cannot be arsed with sack barrows though. It's just more to pack. The Big Twin 2 was also thought about - but boot space is limited. It would fit, just, but not with the other stuff I have to fit in as well.
  16. This thread is a fantastic example of someone talking themselves into something! Nicely done!
  17. That looks like a great site!
  18. Beans are vile. The only possible good thing about the 'thing we cannot talk about' is that Haricot beans are not grown in the UK and there's a really good chance the import costs and thus cost of a tin of baked beans will go through the roof to the point where anyone who makes them has to discontinue that product line.
  19. Might need a quid or 2 from them to crowdfund the divorce!
  20. It’s good, and a lot more expensive. As is the Rockbass power supply.
  21. Votes So far, 16 yes and. 3 no. As before I’m assuming the wife is a no, and now that I think about it, Alex is probably a yes!
  22. I always ask what key it’s in. Then I also remember that quick passing notes are largely ignored and just play what I feel like.
