  1. Can we change the thread to include bassists who don't understand music?
  2. Depends on the stand. Mine uses the bass strap buttons.
  3. I’ve got a stand. I used it when I was recovering from surgery. Its ok, feels a bit weird for the bass to not move.
  4. Source Audio Spectrum.
  5. MojoMojo sold and gone. Others still available.
  6. This is true. But I like his enthusiasm, and that I once won one of his competitions.
  7. For me - every single time.
  8. My Fender Urge 2 has the pau ferro board. It's a nice wood! Lovey bass. I really must try a Lionel. I've never had a 30 scale bass.
  9. Still can't change them without disrupting your playing if you are playing anything remotely quick.
  10. Bump. Feel free to make offers, or a deal for all 3.
  11. Another vote for a Roland Bass Cube 30 - one of the older heavier ones. I still have mine despite my silly money main rig. It just sounds great.
  12. I haven't seen that film for decades. I might have to buy it.
  13. Darkglass innit. There'll be the Ultra version in a month for an extra 20%.
  14. Onboard FX are a bit silly. Have to stop playing to make a change. That's what my feet are for!
  15. I managed to play for 10 mins yesterday. Nothing mad - no Sheehan stuff - just a bit of Duck Dunn sort of thing. TI Flats so nice low tension Loads of mistakes caused by the finger not reacting how it used to, but still far better than I expected. I'm going to try and do 10 mins twice a day for simple tunes and then hopefully I won't get replaced with my big band meets again in September.
  16. About 6 months old. Only used at home. I'm going back to a mini board so it takes up too much space. £50 inc UK postage _______________________________________________ OC MojoMojo - SOLD ______________________________________________ Boss OD-1X Amazing over drive pedal (see Pete Thorn's demo for details) RRP is £129 Selling for £65 including UK postage.
  17. I can’t get over £180 for a tiny 2 band preamp
  18. What a colour!
  19. I've just got Notion - lots to learn but great so far. Thanks chaps.
  20. Even with 4 strings you can have a wide old Fender precision with 44mm at the nut, or a modern jazz type at 38mm. Can make a big difference in comfort even before you get to how fat the neck is, and whether it's a C or D shape etc. Get yourself to a good shop and try as many as you can.
  21. This - it's standard on Sandberg active basses. Works very well.
  22. Smaller body? Smaller neck? Shorter scale so the distance between the frets is a little shorter? Lots of options about at all price points. Not like when I were a lad!
  23. Thanks chaps. Staffpad is a bit pricey for an amateur hack like me, but I'll have a good look at the others and find some videos.
  24. I have a shiny new iPad pro and the apple pencil. Some time ago there was a thread (I can't find it - might have even been on a different forum!!) that detailed some music transcription apps (not tab or at least not just tab) that were pencil compatible and had the functionality of Sibelius type stuff - write the part, play it back, transpose for transposing instruments etc, but with the added advantage of not having to drag drop notes - and just writing them on the screen. Can anyone point me in the right direction for such an app? ta
  25. OC-5 It works and it sounds good.
