  1. This is amazing https://music.apple.com/us/album/bach-unaccompanied-cello-suites-performed-on-double-bass/468820668
  2. Seem to be significantly over my £1000 limit, alas.
  3. If it's got a volume control then there is no such thing as too big.
  4. I'd like that Aguilar as well! But it's too heavy for me.
  5. I had an Ashdown MAG400H about 20 years ago when the MAG were still built in the UK and it was very good. I used it with a Marshall VBC412. These days it would go with a Barefaced Supertwin. I tend to like a beefy clean sound maybe with a tiny tiny bit of grit to enhance harmonic content rather than any actual amp drive.
  6. I've had Class D amps since they've been available - back to the MB F1 I think. But I'm about to sell a couple of basses and I'm thinking of an old fashioned hefty amp Obvious choice is an Ashdown ABM600 evo-4, but what else is good these days? No more than a grand though. I'll get in trouble! ta.
  7. I ordered the PJ set. It did need a little routing - it was just a bit too tight to get it in.
  8. Carrier. I got an email from UPS and used their payment system. They also have 'pay the driver' available in some areas. It was a little more than expected - I accounted for VAT and the courier admin charge but had forgotten about import tax as well. Total paid about £214. Still a massive bargain.
  9. Paid my vat / import / handling and it should be delivered on Thursday. That's far faster than I was expecting. I was thinking about selling my Darkglass head as I almost always use my Mark Bass, but now I can have a 3 way shoot out.
  10. IIRC at the moment I have TI Flats (P bass); EB Group 4 flats (Sandberg); Dunlop flats (5 string Ibanez Mezzo); D'Addario Nickels (the rest). So that list is completely wrong!
  11. Ooo I have a dispatch email! Probably take 2 weeks to actually get here these days!
  12. You can custom order any Sandberg with a 32 scale. Same cost as opting for 35 on a bass that would normally be 34.
  13. It’s becoming my favourite bass!
  14. Aargh. I need to sell before I can buy.
  15. I hated the RH750. I wouldn't buy another for £25.
  16. Definitely! I've ordered the head - £159 + vat! Madness. Andertons still showing them at £699. And I've just seen they've sold out. I do have an order number so I hope I got one.
  17. Is that excluding Vat? EDIT - I've had a look at the prices. I think you've forgotten the Vat that will be charged when it arrives.
  18. The overall cost of making a Mars Bar and getting it into the shops is under 5 pence. Customers have decided we'll happily pay a quid for one.
  19. I've just found one on the sold page at BD - looks like it was about £1700!
  20. The scale isn't the issue - it's the strings. Low tuned short scales can be amazing - but I'd be expecting a 130 instead of that 105.
  21. This is why I joined an educational trust band that my kids attended. Multiple ensembles if various sizes, doesn’t matter if someone doesn’t show up! As long as it isn’t the drummer. Or the bass... damn it. No days off for me!
  22. I'd be amazed if EBMM would let him tell that level of financial whopper in an advert from EBMM. There are rules!
  23. I missed that bit. I really like those strings, but I'm amazed they work that low!
