  1. I had the RH750 many years ago. There was something I didn't like about it (aside from the drive - I've never liked TC drive sounds). Just seems a bit meh. I loved the idea, the compressor, the EQ channels etc, but I never could get a sound I liked. Might have been the cabs I had (MB 1x12s I think). I'd like to try again with my current cab, but I have a bigger yearning for a big transformer amp. Maybe an ABM or something for a change.
  2. The new HB old iron head https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_solidbass_600h.htm?ref=intl&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6NCwibGFuZ3VhZ2UiOiJlbiJ9&offid=1&affid=164 £199 + vat Looks suspiciously similar to the old original Ashdown MAG400 head.
  3. And yet the only human in history that could make double denim work was Lemmy.
  4. Your opinion is not a fact. I get it. You’re a Quo fanboi. That’s ok. But the rest of us don’t have to agree. You won’t change anyone’s mind.
  5. To be fair AC/DC did that as well, but managed to be good.
  6. I’ve got a 9lb 5 string. It was 9.5 before I put ultra light tuners in it. It took me years to find a 9.5lb one. Most are well over 10lb. I never play it though. I love the ray sound but it’s too heavy for me.
  7. I love them. I own loads, have sold even more. Was totally amazed by the new-ish Boss BC-1X. falls into the “it just works” category of ease of use. My favourite is probably the Empress though.
  8. I always take 2. Had to use spare once I think. But I also like to swap basses for some tunes.
  9. Another vote for Sandberg. I have a TT4 Super Light and I love it.
  10. Add roughly 25% to cover the VAT and import duties.
  11. Shame the audio is all from the di and nothing from a mic on the speaker. I’d like to have heard that. A di can be made to sound very different.
  12. Sandberg do off the shelf 35 inch 4 strings. I think it’s called the Grand Dark
  13. I read a translation of a Japanese article that the OC-5 was nearly called the OC-2W but that the new tech moved it away from the 2 sufficiently that it needed a new name. so the OC-5 is the 2 Waza really. Can’t see a separate one coming.
  14. There’s an interview on YT with him about it.
  15. Hot Rox have some as well. I've never used them before. But I'll try the starter pack and then see which of them I get on with, if any.
  16. I've done the same. But no to France!
  17. While my finger is injured I've been using a pick and I've tried some normal thumb picks but the position of the pointy bit is much more forward along my thumb than the way I hold a normal pick and these look far more adjustable. I think I might try the started pack too.
  18. I was hoping for a sensible UK supplier!
  19. Used Sandberg or an Ibanez Mezzo and £300 of upgrades!
  20. @6feet7 They look interesting - where do you get them from?
  21. Update. It seems that I have now developed something called a "Swan Neck Deformity" where the joint nearest the knuckle is hyperextended causing the last joint to be unable to straighten. It's slight at the moment but needs to be fixed before it gets worse. I'm in this extended cast for a week. It has a rod along the underside of the finder to help it stay in shape, then next week I get another new splint made that will keep my finger in a "slightly odd" position to try to fix it. I am getting quite bored with this.
  22. I have a lot but I tend to play 3 of them. if I need a low B it’s my Ibanez. Then my favourite is my Sandberg 4. And a cheap Ibanez that I keep in C standard tuning for writing stuff that I will be singing on.
  23. Me too. Apart from "The Real Me" - I'm sorry but Johnny Rod's version in WASP was far better than the Ox (yeah, I said it!) so they get that. It's epic.
  24. Really? I had no idea! I've only really heard the No1 songs that end up on compilations.
  25. Well, 1 of them should really take them all for the team...
