  1. Does copyright subsist in a translation? Even if you are infringing someone else's copyright or even if you are unlawfully translating someone else's work, your work will itself qualify for protection as an original copyright. As a translator you have created something original. As long as you have not copied someone else's translation and providing you have not pledged your right to someone else, you still own the copyright. https://cblesius.co.uk/articles/CopyrightAndTheTranslator-WhoOwnsYourTranslations.html And contrary to that.... THE BOTTOM LINE: COPYRIGHT LAW ALSO APPLIES TO TRANSLATIONS, BUT NOT TO ALL OF THEM In summary, copyright not only covers original works of literature, science and art but, where applicable, can also protect translations. The decisive factor lies is the extent of the translator’s personal creation contribution. Literary translations are definitely subject to copyright law. However, specialist text translations are generally assumed to be so close to the original works that the translator has no scope for creativity – regardless of whether this is actually the case. https://www.inter-contact.de/en/blog/copyright-for-translations?dt=1631617984728 In summary.... Possibly.
  2. Aren't translations viewed as derivative works linked to the original? I could well be very wrong!
  3. Quite an unusual change of look for Durst. In one way it's probably a good idea that he doesn't want to look like an angry twenty something anymore, but on the other he's jumped a generation and gone straight to ancient X-factor entrant who should know better. There's quite a difference between looking old and cool like Sam Elliott, and just looking old.
  4. As my main bass board has about 20 pedals in it I have now decided to stay out of this.... (And my Helix has about 100 patches for guitar stuff....)
  5. Helix would be perfect. As would him not being an insufferable eijit. I managed to play For Whom The Bell Tolls and Sweet Home Alabama with the same settings on a Dual Rec with just a tweak of the guitar volume. So can he. With a Helix he can set up an entirely different patch per song, and within that patch have footswitchable options. It's like having 128 different rigs with you. And that's just scratching the surface of the capabilities.
  6. As it happens I'm planning on modding my Mezzo 5 string to be sort of a stingray. Going to remove all the existing pickups / preamp etc and have an Aguilar DCB MM style put in with probably an Aguilar preamp too. I get the idea that upgrading your Mezzo would cost as much as the bass, but if you love the way it plays then that's not such a silly idea. I have a 4 string as well that I got for £199 - and I've put £350 of EMG pickups and Preamp in it, and now it's spectacular!
  7. Didn't Sam Rivers have a kidney transplant or something? Glad to see he's able to get back in the saddle after that.
  8. Do you want the humbucker in the trad bridge position or more forward like a stingray?
  9. I think it's kind of a neutral colour that doesn't ever really offend or really excite. Doesn't look out of place in any band, but also doesn't catch the eye. It's the elevator music of bass colours.
  10. Greetings. What's your favourite cheese?
  11. My big band board is simple - 4 pedals. Tuner Envelope filter compressor octave I've always got the compressor on. I swap between fingers, slap, and pick during a set and it's useful to smooth the very different levels out. The octave and the filter are on when I need them. Usually one or 2 tunes. My covers band board is far more extensive so it can cover everything from a simple clean Blues Brothers tune, to an FX laden Muse song. Synths, EQs, Fuzz-Wah, distortion, phaser, octave, filters, signal blenders etc. But it's heavy, so only when I need it!
  12. What a player he is!
  13. Amazon. But only if they are the seller. No fakes that way. Especially if you have prime.
  14. Any fin is possible.
  15. I'd agree with this, but also point out that a BB2 wouldn't have the same issue. The Super Compact / Super Twin tops out at only 5Khz (like an old Ampeg would) so the top end can be lacking with those cabs. A tweeter cab goes up to 20Khz and releases that full blown Miller crispy top end. I would have bought the Big Twin 2 rather than the Super Twin... but I'd never fit all my gear in the boot if I did that.
  16. There has to be enough space somewhere in the room so the band can all be in one plaice.
  17. Is that a Chris Wotsitholme sig model?
  18. I have the 800w gold line version. I like it very much.
  19. Mother of cod that’s a bad idea.
  20. Larry Graham's just called. He said get it done.
  21. That needs a trip to Simms to have a set of white LEDs installed in it! Might as well go full disco!
  22. Ashdown said no. Back to the drawing board.
  23. That might work - I'll ask Ashdown directly rather than rely on a marketing dept written tech sheet!
  24. That's still power needed in 2 places. Seriously - some of the venues are shocking - and sometimes it's all outside with a single extension cable in the middle of a village fete. ROCK & ROLL!
  25. In contrast I once pitched up and slapped some of the bass part in Metallica's "Jump in the Fire" It was before texts messages existed, but the phone call was very similarly worded.
