  1. Doubt it - the law is the law. Consumer Contract Regs (that replaced the Distance Selling Regs) allow for 14 days from receipt. Unless it's a custom made item it applies to all businesses.
  2. This. Sometimes I'm playing with just a clarinet. Sometimes I'm playing with 25 brass and wind players and a drummer. At the same show. I'm not taking 2 amps to a gig just to swap them between tunes. And to be frank, the ONLY noise that any modern amp makes should be the sound of the bass. Any other noise, particularly avoidable noise, is a poor design choice.
  3. The C4 will load the Spectrum presets too.
  4. In an ideal world I'd be putting EMGs in it. Unfortunately EMG only make their own dimension soapbars and don't do an easy drop in version for Barts like just about everyone else does these days. I'm a massive fan of their J and JX pickups but the dimensions are wrong in all directions. Would need a lot of routing and a scratchplate to make it look tidy. Shame really. Sometimes I do wonder why companies make it difficult to buy their stuff. Nordy, SD, Aguilar etc all give the option to have an EMG or a Bart sized soapbar.
  5. No. Barts on the medium / short scale fan fret. Alas!
  6. Me neither. My multiple hernia repairs would pop like a puffer fish in a microwave! 110 lb iirc. Easy enough on the wheels, right up until the point steps get in the way. Of lifting it in or out of the car...
  7. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274476367261?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dffc40afdeb9b49ccb2912609fe5a1ae6%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D274476367261%26itm%3D274476367261%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DGallien-Krueger&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A698d63ea-2a8a-11ec-8d74-06cdf3adecfd|parentrq%3A6f370a3917c0aaf639377eecfff88e46|iid%3A1 Being sold by the official importers at £489 That's a good ton cheaper than most places and it has the full warranty. Somebody buy it before I get in trouble with the wife!
  8. I decided to go with the regular One10. A simple process in the end, my favourite cab of all time was the Marshall VBC412 - no tweeter. After that I had, roughly in this order Hartke / Mark Bass / back to hartke / Berg HD / Berg CN and every time I turned the tweeter off. The only downside to Alex's continued success is that lead times are now quoted at 4 to 10 weeks. I'll just have to use my Super Twin in the meantime!
  9. Now I've raised the money I can't decide between the One10 and the One10T! Decisions decisions! On one hand I've had One10 before and liked it. On the other the tweeter can be turned off and would make it a little more versatile for when I do have a few too many beers and start slapping. On the third hand, nobody needs to hear me slapping. Mmmm....
  10. Can anyone recommend a good pdf to XML converter so I can scan sheet music and then convert into XML so I can edit it in Staffpad? I only have a few sheets to do so a free option would be very good. ta
  11. I think I’ll do the pickup upgrade first and then see how the existing preamp does with them.
  12. the minute they do that and get actually silent fans in will be the same minute I buy one. I love the sound, but when I’m playing with woodwind instruments etc any noise like that kills the mood.
  13. Not a fault, it’s a feature! 😂
  14. They claim they are barely audible at low volumes but it’s just not accurate!
  15. I wish Ashdown changed their fans. I love the sound of their amps but the fans are so annoying. There are far quieter options and many manufacturers also have reactive units now so that at low volumes they don’t even turn on at all. The only fan I’ve ever heard that was louder was on a Mesa Prodigy. I’m looking into a new amp at the moment and I really want an ABM but the fan noise means they don’t even make the audition list.
  16. It is all silicon wafer supply. Even the FT has done investigations. Computers, fridges, cars, phones, microwaves, and amplifiers are all affected. Lets just hope that used prices of amps don’t go the same way as used GPU cards! Double retail!
  17. Damn. I was going to ask about ramps too.
  18. I get that they won't want to undercut the dealers - but £130 quid is a far bigger gap than I would expect. It's 18%. It's nearly like not paying vat.
  19. Why are Ashdown amps so much more expensive to buy them directly? EG: The ABM 600 is £749 direct from them, but as low as £619 in other places. What's the deal there?
  20. The Helix is my interface and soundcard. It's also my home practice rig with a pair of Yamaha HS7. I do have Native as well but I like the rack and the foot controller for 'live' tracking.
  21. I've just had a look at the specs of the RCF 745A Impressive! Only 1kg heavier than my Barefaced Super Twin and of course it has the power amp built in too. I've been thinking a little about getting the HX stomp as an easy pedal board set up and the RCF looks very good for that. My Helix is a rack version and it's a permanent part of my home studio so I cannot be arsed to pull that apart to take it anywhere.
  22. I do cut the lows sometimes if the room is a bit crap or the stage is a hollow sports hall tonal disaster. I was thinking about the OBP-2 for that purpose.
  23. I made the mistake of spending the evening playing it. It's so nice. Withdrawn.
  24. Reggae band. No. Muse covers. Yes, absolutely necessary. The set list decides the issue.
