1. Come on, guys! Latvia maybe is a new Europe, but I don't think there are more scammers or idiots here than in any other European country. In fact outside the BC, in my daily business, I mostly deal with the scam attempts from the UK. I do not know how true is this story about the parcel service "not leaving the notification under the door", sounds a bit weird to me. As much as not solving the issue in between both of you, guys, during 2 months period.
2. Always wanted to try Pentabuzz (even though I am not that good in fretless). I don't have spare cash right now, so just have a bump on me. And, forgive my ignorance, can anyone explain this polyester thing? How crucial it is? And also - how big is the difference between PJ, JJ and soapbars (humbuckers?) on this bass soundwise?
3. Bump for a gorgeous bass from a neighbour country
4. Yes, true, it is a lovely Zon, and I was looking at one like this recently! And ......... can't afford it right now unfoertunately! Good luck with the sale and bump!
5. Both are gorgeous, but 5/24 is a jewel Bump!
6. For me they are not really a must, but are a preference. If I would be ordering the custom bass, I will order with the face dots most probably. In fact apart from teaching and dark stages, I have noticed that when playing some tapping (like solo bass stuff) for me it is slightly easier to orient myself on a fretboard with the face dots (especially when "jumping" from one position to another). The difference I guess is very minimal, but when playing live, everything counts. There is also an issue of where those marks to be on the fretboard - classic (middle), upper part or lower part of the fretboard, but I guess this is the matter of a taste. I've never had a bass with LEDs, but I was thinking of a simpler solution like for instance one of the Wood & Tronics optional extras - Fluorescent neck-side markers (glow in the dark by stored light energy).
7. Not exactly the topic, but has to do with Ritter, made me laugh Check the shortcut! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARyVweFJH5A&feature=share
8.
please don't make silly offers like the squire plus 150 pound or would you accept £700? no thank you, please stop the silly offer
+1 Very well told!
9. Although we had a deal with Bram a year ago, I still remember the feelings I had, so I think it is wise to leave a feedback in this section. Here is what I have inscribed a year ago in Bram's profile feed: The best guy I have ever dealt with! Great communication, no exaggerations, honest and detailed descriptions, very dedicated, careful and patient! Highly recommended! I still may confirm every word of it, and I want to add that the bass was professionally packed! Deal with confidence, Bram is a great guy!
10. Thanks, John! And thanks so much, Antonio, this is absolutely correct! Viz Maurogiovanni is a monster bass player!!! Moreover, if to trust the information provided in the correspondence with JensWest, who has been interested in this bass and was checking it with Enrico from Wood & Tronics, this Zoid used to belong to Viz. Here is a little excerpt from what Jens has written (I hope this is okay with you, Jens, that I publish it): VM had your bass built with Q-tuner pickups in it. They were changed on VM's demand to Kent Armstrong pu's. VM traded your bass in for a new VM sign. One of the previous owners has mentioned in the post that the bass was completely refinished when traded. Well, I can't prove it, and it is not the major thing about this bass, but being a huge fan of Viz, it is quite pleasant to know
11. Deal with confidence, a great bass from a great guy!
12. That's the point, it's not the first time you ask the same question, kosygin. Even if it was the one you mention, why should you bother?
13.
Not sure if its an option for you but are there not straps available that could allow you to take the weight of the bass around your waste in some way. I have a dvd by Alain Caron where he has the usual shoulder strap but also a 2nd strap from the bridge end to his belt. I'm not sure exactly how it works but it must allow him to balance the bass better for fretless work whereby it sits a little higher. The advantage might be that for yourself it might take some of the load from the neck area. Might be worth looking into before selling a gorgeous custom bass that you are obviously very attached to. There has to be other options on this theme i would have thought. There might even be a patent opening there for whoever comes up with the best option. HAve you tried contacting a specialist strap mfr who might offer some help. Shame for you to lose this bass No matter what happens all the very best. Cheers Dave
It makes sense to me. Once I saw on talkbass.com something of this kind, I think it was a Skjold, with some additional straplocks and the weirdly looking strap, but the owner was stating it helped a lot to solve the problems of the similar kind.

16. "Can't stop watching at this beauty" kind of BUMP
17. I've bought this Zon Sonus that John has traded back from Chris2112 not a long time ago. The bass came in yesterday, and first thing to notice is the box. Box (as John has remarked originally) would survive the drop off the airplane (if only a slight exaggeration). The way the bass was packed IN the box surprised me even more - wrapped in this bubblewrap/cardboard so well, with the special arrangement for the headstock safety, would survive a tsunami easily. The bass is shining, clean, everything - as described in the original thread (not a single ding extra). In reality the bass looks even better than on the pics. As for the communication, John has always been very attentive to all my questions/requests, very easy and understanding. One thing has exceeded my expectations: very often the sellers are not flexible at all, especially when it comes to the methods of payment. Not John, he took a slight risk but he comprehended the situation (I know Americans would probably think it is a scam), and everything worked out well. I am not "singing serenades" by this feedback, but I absolutely recommend John, Chris is right - a real gent, and I feel like I might have another deal with him some time in future!
