1. These are different to the one I have Mines the later one with 4 knobs
2.
Hi Lonestar There's another TL 5 up for grabs ATMO. Timing is lousy my contract has been put back 2 weeks so I should be curtailing bass buys. If you're stuck for parts in future try over on TB, a lot of Peavey owners there strangely not so staunch MIA as owners of some other brands. Sure someone there could help locate parts.
Thanks mate.
3. Great band I wish I was going. Watched the Kate Bush biog and kate at the BBBC last night on BBC4. Brilliant
4.
Lonestar that was a great deal for the Landers. You're right about buyers AT I counted only 10 items with bids tonight out of 50 lots.
Sure was for a US made signature bass. Had a reall problem trying to source replacement stacked pots though. Even Peavey USA couldn't find one.
5.
Not much you can do about poor time. It would be a deal breaker for me.
Me too. Id be looking for a new gig straight away. Everyone should be responsible for their own timekeeping to some degree although I find it's always best blame drummer if things go awry.
6.
Anything by snow patrol or coldplay, boring.
Oh god no I don't think that I can think of a worse couple of artists to cover. I've had a big falling out with a guitard in a previous band after refusing to play anything by Coldplay.
7. I bought my peavey tim landers signature bass on fleabay a few years ago for £323 . There were no other bidders
8.
We play Dakota sometimes. I just use two alternating fingers and it works fine.
Me too although I always end up using fingers 1 and 3 on 8th lines like this
9. Hot and sweaty but a great gig depping for my old band in a huge marquee at a very fancy schmancy Birthday party in Essex Nice people and Lovely food too
10. Familial duties prevent me attending unfortunately but have a great day
11. Ive played this far too many times in a previous band and have never really liked it much. Somhappy never to play it again
12. Heres a nice one of mr Hetfield http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/photo-of-james-hetfield-and-metallica-james-hetfield-news-photo/84895491
13. Sorry about the multiple posts ipad gone nuts
14.
Trujillo is an absolute monster on the bass.
Silly haircut though I photographed metallica at Donnington in the '80s; they were very good http://assets-s3.rollingstone.com/assets/images/gallery/500x595/64b01bc2a348ac397e1685dbba2340ed31e6c23d.jpg
15.
Rob Trujillo also wears his bass lower than pretty much everyone else. Surprising how he can still reach it. Liam
Silly haircut though. I photographed metallica donnington in the 80s they were very good.
16. Even the disagreements are lyrica!Great response from Mr Dolby.
17.
Instead of playing single string notes like the brother, my guitar playing allowed me to figure out some other notes on different strings.
What? BURN THE WITCH ! Just kidding welcome to bass playing and chatting here. Mike
18. My first bass amp was a FAL PA amp driving a 2x12 "custom made" reflex bass cab. It was very loud projecting the low end of my Kay/avon hybrid precision copy right to the far end of Green St Green village Hall. Happy days.
19. Thats the one
20.
What was the first 'tribute' band, paying 'tribute' to a previously successful group..? The concept didn't exist, or if it did, I don't remember it, back in the '60s and '70s. Was it simply with the decline of the 'super-group' that this ball started rolling..? Who were the first to have tribute paid to them in this way..? Hmm...
I think the Australians started it with Bjorn again and the pink floyd one whose name escapes me. I remember seeing ads for a ZZ to tribute act when i was living in Darwin late 1980's and that's my first awareness of such a thing. There were quite a lot of tribute bands in the Antipodes. I guess 12000 miles is a long way to go and play for a country with small population with big spaces between cities, making it a costly business.
21. Nearly Dan and zappa plays zappa are my favourite tribute bands.
22.
We shared the bill with one , went into their dressing room to say hi to find the singer on his knees in front of a Freddie poster. Drummer told us to bugger off while he 'invoked Freddie's spirit'. What can you do ? !
I stopped reading at singer on his knees and had to go back and read the rest of the post after id finished my sandwich
