1. We tried to cover Rosanna once in a previous band. Yikes tough bassline ! We soon gave up !
 2. I wish this was nearer to me. Sounds a brilliant setlist.
 3. I find that getting at least two fingers going, building up the tempo / stamina and getting those pesky 16ths even is the trick.its a great track to practice RH technique
 4. I have a very good tab for this from Guitardist magazine that I could scan for you if you like space Chick
 5.
Love this one, great vid too!
Thats great!
 6.
It's a very confused list though. Some of the "rules" are about avoiding tired old cliches, while others seek to enforce them. I might take some interest in a similar list from a noted performer rather than a journalist (like Captain Beefheart's infamous guitar commandments), though more as an insight into their way of working than as a set of rules.
"Most rock journalism is people who can't write, interviewing people who can't talk, for people who can't read". Frank Zappa
 7.
With all due respect, this is utter bullshit. Of the highest order. Probably written by some twat in a terrible pub covers band who has a horrible shiny 7-string Ibanez guitar, can't play lead solos for toffee and has a gut like Jabbas. Or not. He should say, "If you are not a dull shoe-gazey indie muppet, you should't be in a band" or "Don't form a band".
Calm down it's only satire ! It is in fact from a humorous book by an American writer ( music journo?)which I was given for Christmas a few years ago and was called the Rock Bible or something. I cant believe that anyone ever intended these to be taken seriously although judging by the vitriolic response of some of the humourless miserable gits on here and facebook the irony got lost somewhere mid Atlantic. It made me smile anyway. edit:http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Rock-Bible-Scriptures-Bands/dp/1594742693
 8. And that pod sounds a bargain !
 9. Still not getting any action hot or otherwise
 10.
I used to use a Pocket Rock-it. did everything I needed it too and it plugged directly into the bass too. http://www.pocketroc....php?id=0022s1b
Yep me too I have one of these Im very pleased with it
 11.
If covers bands are allowed then Nearly Dan gets my vote. Outstanding.
Mine too . Seen them a couple of times a few years ago must be time for another visit
 12. Thanks Ive requested to join
 13. Right up street musically but sadly too far away geographically. What is the FB group. I'm on a couple for deps and coverbands locally.
 14.
Wasn't he considered for the Olympic fencing team at one point?
http://ultimateclassicrock.com/bruce-dickinson-fencing/
 15.
I hate it when that happens. I pulled into a petrol station behind Bruce Dickinson a few months ago and was reminded that I'm not a wealthy rock singer/world class fencer/airline pilot/author. Just one of those would be enough for most people, surely. He's just showing off.
He's a pretty hot fencer too.
 16. My word i cant imagine how loud that is ! Sorry to hear about your arthritis has curtailed your bass playing. Good luck with the sale Mike
 17. Doh! Typo changed. Besides that was earlier in my career when I needed the money.
 18. Already missing the smell of the crowd roar of the greasepaint Bump
 19. Wish This was nearer to me. Sounds just the ticket bump. Any connections with this and the intriguing NYE gig story ?

 22.
Joan Armatrading with Tony Levin on bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pjMwzujbHE
Id forgotten that excellent. 24.
Well this is probably the sweetest voice I have heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuglvdPZ-JU
also true. And soon as you hear the first notes it sounds like no one else
