  1. This is the second of my Loud cabs I'm selling. It si 4x10+horn, rated at 1200 watts / 4ohms. Will cope with most amp heads! Been a great cab for me - sounds ace, and fairly lightweight too, an easy one man lift. Good condition, a great cab for someone. Looking for £90 or near offer. I'm in East Yorkshire near Hull - possible help with delivery in say Yorkshire for fuel costs, but would much prefer cash on collection. Got a 1x15 for sale on here too if you're interested. Cheers.
  2. Selling my spare cabs, as they're just not getting used. This is a Loud Inc 1x15, rated at 350 watts rms / 8 ohms. Never had it apart, but believe it is an Eminence driver.as thats what the company always used. Its in great condition, and is compact and relatively light, due I think to it's plywood construction. No way of weighing it, but reckon its in the 45/50 lb region - an easy one man lift anyway. Sounds great -used it with a Markbass LM2 and it performed well. Bargain at £65! (now reduced from £75! - no silly offers thanks, if it doesnt sell for near this then will keep it!) I'm in East Yorkshire near Hull - possible help with delivery for fuel costs in say Yorkshire area but would obviously much prefer cash on collection. NOW SOLD, pending payment. Cheers.
  3. Brilliant. Apparently the Beach Boys are on this weeks 'Later with Jools' , BBC2 Tuesday and Friday. Don't know how they'll be now, but hopefully will have band made up of Brians current touring outfit, who are absolutely superb. Guess they'll be doing stuff from their recent album 'Thats why God made the radio'.

Tis a thing of beauty - I have a similar model in blue, cracking bass. If I had the dosh would be all over this one too.......................bump.
  5. Yammy pic(s) please? Cheers.
  6. Just got a Fender Precision Lyte from Paul. Top feller, nice quick easy transacation and good communications etc. Thanks Paul!
  7. Oh no, another Musicman I want............aargh...........
  8. Just bought a cabinet off Dave - nice bloke to deal with, fine young feller! Although a newbie on here I would recommend to anyone considering a deal with him. Cheers Dave, Pete.
  9. I always liked Rod's output throughout the 70's, especially with The Faces. His solo stuff often featured great players as on Atlantic Crossing - he could command this due to his massive popularity both in Europe and the US. The following album 'A night on the town' featured Joe Walsh & the Tower of Power horns. Later albums (into the 80's) had Bernard Edwards,Tony Thompson & Jeff Beck guesting too.
  10. Me too - especially with Chris Spedding as well, one of the unsung guitar greats.

  12. Quick heads up - there's a feature on Nile Rodgers on The Culture Show Edinburgh festival special, tonight on BBC2 at 10pm.
  13. Does it for me........
  14. Totally agree with Johngh above. Whilst it can be a pain moving keys (and in some cases ruining songs!), surely the lead vocal is the most noticeable thing to your average punter if its not in tune? And if that means downtuning/getting the guitarist to use a capo etc then thats what it takes.
  15. 35 years, playing (a conservative average of) 2 gigs a week equals 3500 Crikey..........
  16. I use a foldable K&M stand, around £14. Folds up and weighs next to nowt. Very strong and surprisingly robust - had a rather erm..large lady fall on it onstage at a local pub gig and it survived that. Seen too many instruments damaged over the years by being left against an amp/chair/wall etc to not use a stand. Also don't like the bottom strap button being used to support the bass, going to lead to problems sooner or later.
  17. Not sure which driver would be best for you. However, I believe the MAG series combos had 2 speaker outputs, so if you want to ever use an extension cab then replace the combo speaker with an 8 ohm one-that way you can add an extension cab (also 8 ohms) to get the full power from the amp (which will then be into 4 ohms total) If you'll never do the extension cab thing, then replace your blown speaker with a 4 ohm one - these are often a bit harder to find though, and the difference in output from your combo with a 4 ohm speaker against an 8 ohm one may not sound that much.
  18. More love for the GK - got a couple of them. Had an Ampeg SVT3 and liked it, but always seemed to have to run it well up to get decent volume, whereas the GK just keeps on going. Both been very reliable so far, and not stupid heavy at around 19lbs.The boost control lets you dial in a bit of growl if that your thing too.
  19. For anyone who missed it, this is being repeated on Thursday 26th July at 11.30 on BBC4.
  20. +1 for Stevie Wonder's version of 'We can work it out'. Also love his version of 'Blowin in the wind'. There have been some great covers done by Motown acts, often (IMO) challenging the originals - 'I heard it through the grapevine' by Marvin Gaye (Gladys Knight) and 'Its all in the game' by the Four Tops (Tommy Edwards). Love 'em.
