1. i just bought an eden 15" cab of ebay. i'm going to be getting rid of my antediluvian peavey 4x10 (along with my trace elliot head), and adding the eden to my swr 2x12. i've been missing some low end to be honest, even with the peavey in there. and then....no more rig tweakage. i'm not even in a band ferchrissakes !!
2. i had a dean markley overlord for a while (before it fell apart !)...which i think was a version of the tube driver. ok...but too much distortion. blue tube's the way to go.
3. mine's the pedal version...which although i'm very happy with, the bias control would be nice
4. aha ! i finally got one that works !!! i had one of these before, and it was pretty knackered when i got it and eventually it just gave up the ghost. however...it sounded great. so i chanced my arm and when one turned up on ebay i went for it. and this one sounds better than i remembered i put a lower gain valve in and it's just amazing. it can add a bit of warmth or some nice 'on the edge' overdrive sounds. top stuff !
5. that's nice to know. my ampeg pre is well up for a service.
6. "...electrons can survive in a vacuum tube, but can be eliminated or squashed in a lattice" no wonder his amps are expensive if they can bend the laws of physics. maybe they do warp drive too.
Remeber you are used to an active bass tone and flea/stingray pickup position.
i'd say that's about the nub of it and if you don't like fender basses, you don't like fender basses...luckily there's lots of flavours to the bass rainbow.
8. here's a shot i took in the early morning of yesterday...i think it really shows the beautiful chocolate colour of the black stain.
9. it's my 40th next year...and my better half has been asking me a similar question. i'm not sure i'll be going 100% custom...i've found myself looking at the overwater site a bit recently !
10. my god. oh my f^^king god that's beautiful...and if i hadn't just bought a rockbass fortress fretless, i'd be all over it. good luck with the sale.
11. hi, and welcome to the forum ! i do like the 'rickernbacker'-style bass you've got on your myspace - very pretty.

20. i spoke to mark at bass direct before i bought an ebs multicomp and he said he couldn't tell the difference between the true bypass and older style. i bought one of the older, non-true bypass ones and i've tried it with an fx loop pedal. he was right
