1. bump with price drop
 2. not last night, but i played at the celtic blue rock festival near carmarthen on friday night. totally amazing crowd despite perishing '60mph mist' rain, got loads of people bopping and made it to the end of the set without anyone getting elctrocuted or slipping over on the puddles that slowly grew during our set. i've never worn so many clothes on stage before (see my new avatar) the band after us played and then they shut the stage cos it was too dangerous...my pedalboard's still drying out at home !!!
 3. the LPB has far from a flat frequency response. to my ears the best, clean boost i've found is the CAE line booster. no cheap tho.
 4. my mum had tea with the kinks.
 5. i played a friend's jedson just like that. sounded and felt fine to me.
 6.
I have experience of this...... if you can.... buy a cheap Ipod... you can a refurbished one for about £25 from the Apple store... that way you don't have to worry about your laptop getting trashed. You won't really gain much over having a usb interface and may introduce Latency.
plus the one.
 7.
Can it be a pedal? If so, EBS Microbass II pushes all the buttons!
plus the one
 8.
"ah but you need an astrophysics degree to play root notes..."
finally a use for my undergraduate degree !!
 9.
I'll copy/paste the e-mail here, don't care if they see it haha:
don't know why they didn't start it 'dear john' and include 'it's not you, it's me' (or did they ?) that email says nowt...i think they owe it to you to be honest. email them back, tell them you respect their decision, but not to spare your blushes. you're all grown-ups ffs !

 12.
Very nice pedal - I just modified one. If you like saturated sound in a small format you can't go wrong with this. (Free bump )
agreed - massive tone from a so-small-it's-cute pedal.
 13. bought a while back from burno - lovely unit, but i've just got too many pedals now i'm not in a regularly gigging band. ok physical nick (the logo has scratched off slightly) but works as new. how about [s]£75[/s] £70 to your door ? paypal preferred

 16.
Ahpook, who offered his copy a while ago has now send his to Acidbass - so I guess that is now the communal book! I figured this was more in the spirit than buying a brand new copy and putting money into Guy Pratt's pocket.
sorry for the delay folks - i've packed the book up and it'll be in the post to acidbass on monday.

 18.
GuitarGuitar have always treated me right, it's why I keep going back.
they were great with me too - i ordered my baby baby blue on sunday, they phoned monday morning to confirm the order and it arrived 1st thing tuesday in one of the best packed packages i've ever seen. top marks all round.
 19.
Thats a very expensive way to toast bread though.....
i was just thinking i should have got one of those instead of the new boiler we had installed !
 20.
When you have someone coming from the crowd and compliments everyone in the band shaking their hands and just bypasses you. It happened last gig.
ouch ! philistines ! you know you're a bassist when: your girlfriend can tell the difference in tone between your jazz bass before and after you've fitted a badass...
 21.
Well, for repeating bass lines possibly the best known popular piece is Pachelbel's Canon in D, which you can hear in an outstanding performance below. The first eight notes in the bass repeat throughout the piece - why not play along?
hmmm. thanks...i'm all relaxed now. and a damn fine example of unchanging basslines.
 22.
i shall be repenting at leisure
and just to add, i picked up the baby baby blue today. sounding fabby !

 24. have we forgotten this one ? genius song, genius bass/piano line which really carries the song - an excellent example of ostinato as wulf mentioned.
 25.
brand-new relics
now there's an album title !
