2.
The main thing is to try and enjoy it, and more to the point, LOOK like you're enjoying it, because if the band like you and your vibe, they're more likely to take you on over some miserable git who is technically brillant. HAVE FUN !!
plus the one good luck !
3. now that a fellow basschatter has taken my old 4x10 off my hands, here's the new setup ampeg svp-pro >> samson 100W power amp (my soundtech's fans were too noisy for home, so the samson's a convection-only stealth alternative)>> workingmans 2x12 (with upgraded speakers) and an eden nemesis 1x15 with the tweeter defeated. sounds fantastic...thick and warm with a nice bit of valvey/compressiony punch. very compact too !
4. there's a few guitars in there. there's the chord picking (compression and chorus i guess) and the slide part, which is a tempo-matched delayed overdriven guitar, played with a slide, or even a lap steel. prolly through a spce echo if i remember mccabe's setup. i just tried guitar >> compressor >> overdrive >> ehx stereo memory man with hazarai >> ehx holy stain. add slide/ebow to taste...sounded good
5.
I only bought it for the chance of a free cup of tea. Imagine my disapointment when I didn't get one Nice to meet you mate, the rig sounds great. The neighbours are going to hate me very soon!
ack ! my manners ! the amp was sounding really nice with your yammy. lets the neighbours complain
6. i love my jazz bass (1987 MIJ btw) but i only ever use the neck pickup, never the bridge. to my ears it's a much fuller sound. but each to their own of course !!
7.
Worth another mention just for being soooooo good!
o canada !
8. and sold to the very same. many thanks - always nice to meet another basschatter !
Excellent thread! Soon Over Babaluma is my favourite. Excellent 'relaxation' music if you catch my drift.
yeah ? i'd always plump for 'future days' if i'm...um....in that kind of mood. as i was last night oh...and i always play 'mother sky' if there's a thunderstorm.
10. bass strings do get dull as time goes by - it's just what they do as they get played in. if you like bright-sounding strings and want to reduce your outlay, have you tried warwick strings ? they're quite cheap on ebay and are very bright-sounding.
11.
I feel like a total d*ck - I have seen that tons of times and never realised it was a strap button!!!
i thought it was a bottle opener !!

Can

i'm a massive fan of can. jaki liebezeit is, imho, one of the best drummers ever, and i'll not even get started on holger czukay's genius minimal bass playing. love them...in fact, when hope sandoval's album has finished, i'm putting on 'future days'
13. if behringer modelled it on the syb-5 then, tracking-wise it was a mistake. the syb-3 is a much better unit - i've owned both the syb-3 and -5 and former is a much better pedal...not perfect, but still better.
14. welcome ! willkommen ! bienvenue !
15. 22w ???
16. well i pulled the bulb, and no magic smoke so far much prefer it sans tweeter.
17.
How much for the head? I'm way outside Lunnon, but where I work we have a carrier contract so I could arrange collection if that would work? Nice offer of tea, though..
sorry...i didn't say it's a tenner off each, so £140 for the head and £40 for the cab.
18. price drop, and i'm happy to split the head and cab
19. i think we should have a sticky thread where endless debates like this can be thrashed out

23.
No need to rewire it - just take out the light bulb that acts as a tweeter fuse!
aha ! i was wondering about that, having done some reading sbout the way crossovers are wired. i take it that won't damage the crossover itself ? edit: seems the issue's been raised a few times on the eden forum ...and the bulb pulling's the way to go. top stuff...many thanks kt
24. i'm with dannybuoy. deffo try the iq before the multi comp - i tried mine both ways (just to see) and the iq >> comp sounded better to my ears and chorus after compression is the way to go. but as always...the fun of pedals is messing around with the order !
