Excellent thread! Soon Over Babaluma is my favourite. Excellent 'relaxation' music if you catch my drift.
yeah ? i'd always plump for 'future days' if i'm...um....in that kind of mood. as i was last night oh...and i always play 'mother sky' if there's a thunderstorm.
2. bass strings do get dull as time goes by - it's just what they do as they get played in. if you like bright-sounding strings and want to reduce your outlay, have you tried warwick strings ? they're quite cheap on ebay and are very bright-sounding.
3.
I feel like a total d*ck - I have seen that tons of times and never realised it was a strap button!!!
i thought it was a bottle opener !!

i'm a massive fan of can. jaki liebezeit is, imho, one of the best drummers ever, and i'll not even get started on holger czukay's genius minimal bass playing. love them...in fact, when hope sandoval's album has finished, i'm putting on 'future days'
5. if behringer modelled it on the syb-5 then, tracking-wise it was a mistake. the syb-3 is a much better unit - i've owned both the syb-3 and -5 and former is a much better pedal...not perfect, but still better.
6. welcome ! willkommen ! bienvenue !

8. well i pulled the bulb, and no magic smoke so far much prefer it sans tweeter.
9.
How much for the head? I'm way outside Lunnon, but where I work we have a carrier contract so I could arrange collection if that would work? Nice offer of tea, though..
sorry...i didn't say it's a tenner off each, so £140 for the head and £40 for the cab.
10. i think we should have a sticky thread where endless debates like this can be thrashed out

14.
No need to rewire it - just take out the light bulb that acts as a tweeter fuse!
aha ! i was wondering about that, having done some reading sbout the way crossovers are wired. i take it that won't damage the crossover itself ? edit: seems the issue's been raised a few times on the eden forum ...and the bulb pulling's the way to go. top stuff...many thanks kt
15. i'm with dannybuoy. deffo try the iq before the multi comp - i tried mine both ways (just to see) and the iq >> comp sounded better to my ears and chorus after compression is the way to go. but as always...the fun of pedals is messing around with the order !
16. i'm certainly impressed with the bottom end (missus !), and my worries about the tweeter were unfounded...it's not too brash. but then it must be said i don't like tweeters at all...if the non-defeatable tweeter does bug me, i intend to rewire the cab to remove the crossover and tweeter, or fit an L-pad.
17.
Man i love my fortress. I dont really like the way it looks but the bass itself is getting pretty close to perfect. Id love a new Masterman with a few added tweaks. Do you have one?
nope, sorry.
18. you folks aren't helping my warwick gas.
19. well it's here, and sounds lovely. i've not had a decent 1x15 before and it rewlly does add some meat to the lower end. very light too ! this i like, cos i'm quite weedy really. so the peavey 4x10 really has to go now...i'm running out of space in my spare room !!!
20. it's ages since i posted any of my music online, but what the hey... here you are folks...it, ahem, drifts off toward the end and it's still a work in progress. edit: and will wait for a better mix in the morning.
21.
The Boss pedal can struggle below C on a 4 string bass (I use one).
my pearl octaver struggles below C as well. it works great for fretless, but as you say... what are you doing down below low C anyway ? ymmv au naturellement
